Will Mukesh Ambani announce Reliance Jio Commercial Launch on AGM Day or on 28 December.
The commercial launch of telecom venture Reliance Jio is one of the much-awaited launches in the country for a long time. But now it’s going to be a festive launch for Jio 4G services. The Chairman of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani is going to announce the Reliance Jio Commercial Launch in the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 1st September.
It is also expected that Ambani to announce the traffic for existing users, may finally reduce the tension between Reliance Jio and other GSM telecoms. Reliance Jio will file a tariff plan with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) soon.
Reliance has pulled off a marketing coup without even commercially launching their Jio 4G SIM network. Over 1.5 million Indians are already making voice and video calls, sending messages and Internetting through country’s widest 4G network.
Last year on 28 December, the beta services had launched, Shah Rukh Khan and A. R. Rahman are invited to host. Initially, this Free Jio 4G SIM card services given to the employees of Reliance. While in this year, the company has started promoting Jio Preview Offer with the sale of LYF mobiles with the 4G support of VoLTE.
Soon after that, they launched the brand new devices 4G MiFi devices (Due to low supply of MIFI devices) which again come with JioFi Device (the cheapest way to access free Data) with Jio Preview Offer Applicable. The company has listed the 4G smartphones brands like Samsung, Micromax, LG, and Panasonic, are eligible for Jio 4G services.
However it has extended its Free Jio 4G Sim for every VoLTE supported 4G phones like Redmi Note 3, LeEco Max 2, Oneplus 3, Sony, ASUS, Videocon, Solo, Alcatel, Micromax, Karbonn, Gionee, Lava, Sansui. Recently the company has announced that they are expanding the offers of unlimited free calls, free data, and SMS from 90 days to one year.
All the consumers who have taken the Free Jio 4G Sim card are getting the queries that what happens to Jio Preview Offer after 90 days and about porting of existing number to Jio Network. As per the reports, after 90 days of unlimited free calls, free data and SMS, consumers will be given the choice of tariff plans and will have to choose from them to continue using the services.
Since the Reliance Jio hasn’t commercially launched, you can’t port your existing numbers. But one hopes, post the Reliance Jio Commercial Launch, with the networks willing there may be chances for porting.
Airtel, Vodafone, and Idea opposed and argued with TRAI that Reliance is unfair for its free preview offer. They are doing business without actually paying the government spectrum. And yet it is on a massive customer acquisition of 90 days of free voice, data and texting services. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is yet to take a view on this.
