India Reaches 500th Test Matches Mark

India’s Cricket Glory will be enlightened more as the ongoing test match between India and New Zealand is the mark of 500th Test Match in Indian cricket history. India stands at fourth place in the list of 500 Test matches playing nations. England, Australia, and West Indies are the other three in this hall of fame.

The Nation stands high with respect to this sport as India is not only the richest cricket board among the playing nations but also for its talented players and the game performance over all these years. Colonel CK Nayudu is the first captain of Indian cricket team which played against England in the year 1932.

Apparently, 100th test match was also played against England in the year 1967. The 200th match was played against the arch rival Pakistan during the season of 1982-83. The match against South Africa marker the fleet of the 300th match and after that the 400th match was played against West Indies.

India has shown its worth in all the forms of cricket (Test matches and limited-overs matches) that exist till date. At all levels and of course with few controversies, India has proved itself.

Now as the Indian cricket is celebrating its 500th Test match played at Kanpur, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a program by name DREAM TEAM for the sports lovers and Indian cricket fans. This will enable to choose best players and form a team as per their view. For this purpose, a page has been created on the social media site, Facebook.

BCCI President, Mr. Anurag Thakur said: “I have always believed that the heart of the game lies with its fans and what better way to celebrate the historic moment of 500th Test match by giving the fans a chance to vote for their ‘Dream Team’. I am pleased that over 100,000 cricket fans have already voted to pick their top-order in the ‘Dream Team’ and I expect that number to grow manifolds in coming days.”

All the former captains except Mohammed Azharuddin were invited along with the former coaches and other key portfolio holders to mark the 500th test match start.
