CAT 2016 Notification

Indian institutes of management (IIM) announced on Sunday that the registration process for CAT (Common Admission Test) 2016 will begin on August 8th, 2016. The CAT exam date is scheduled to be on December 4th, 2016. The significant change in the up coming test is that it is being conducted in two sessions on the same day as per official CAT 2016 Notification.

Cat 2016 will be held by IIM Bengaluru and its software partner TCS. The CAT Online Registration window opens from 08 August to 22 September 2016.

CAT is the common platform to get admissions into premier business schools to get admissions into MBA( Master of Business Administration) Through CAT score card one can get MBA admission into all the 16 IIMs and non-IIMs like MDI, SPJIMR, FMS, IMI, NITIE, IMT, TAPMI, XIMB, etc.

It is a computer-based test (CBT) which tests candidate’s performance in Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability (VA) and Reading Comprehension (RC), Data Interpretation (DI) and Logical Reasoning (LR). The usage of basic on-screen calculator for computation will also be allowed.

CAT 2016 registration fee is 1700 for general category and 850 for SC/ ST/ PWD category paid to be at the time of apply online. The registration fee is increased by 100 rupees when compared to the previous year.

About 135 centres are allotted for the candidates appearing for CAT EXAM 2016. Students can give four preferences for cat exam venue.

Cat registration process 2016 will be only through online mode. There is no offline registration process. According to CAT notification or Information Brochure “The duration of CAT 2016 will be 180 minutes. There will be three sections similar to CAT 2015. In essence, there is no pattern change, but for the lack of clarity on the number of questions. The number of questions per section and the overall number of questions has not been specified. This detail was mentioned in the press release document for CAT 2015 and is missing in the document this year. We will have to wait and see if any clarity emerges on this matter. Since the registration and examination dates have been announced, aspirants must gear up their preparations to bell the CAT 2016.” Rajiv kukreja director of T.I.M.E Dehradun, said while speaking about the developments.
