Teacher’s day is celebrated as a tribute to the contribution made by the teachers towards the community, on 5th September in India. Since 1962, the day commemorated the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a great teacher and a staunch believer of education and known for his contribution to the education system in India.

Dr Radhakrishnan said, “Teachers should be the best minds in the country”. Some of his students came to him and requested him to allow to celebrate his birthday, but he said instead of celebrating my birthday, celebrate the day as Teachers Day. From then onwards the Teachers Day celebrations has started in India. He was the first Vice-President and second President of India.

On 5th September, we honour our beloved teachers for their selfless efforts towards shaping the careers of the students in a perfect manner. Teacher’s day holds the immense importance of every individual throughout the country.
