Every year on August 12 International Youth Day, which is the awareness day declared by the United Nations in the year 1985. The decision is made by the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth. The main theme of the day is to remind the public about the importance of the youth, which is one stage of life and celebrated all over the world.
On the 10th Anniversary, General Assembly adopted “World Programme of Action for Youth”, which provides the guidelines and support for the nation and worldwide for improving the position of the youth.

As per the definition by the Western European the young people are boys and girls with the age in between 13 and 21 years. There are many activities which are organised for the youth and each time they help with the planning and implementing their ideas and have the proper celebrations and made that a great day.
For the year 2016, the theme of this year International Youth Day is “The Road to 2030: Eradicating Poverty and Achieving Sustainable Consumption and Production”. Says United Nations. This is all about achieving the 2030 plan for the Sustainable Development. They focus on the primary role of the youth is ensuring poverty eradication and achieving sustainable development through sustainable consumption and production.
