India’s second largest car manufacturer Hyundai Motor India Limited introduces a new range of i20, naming Elite i20. Equipped with a new 1.4L petrol engine with 4-speed automatic transmission, Elite i20 offers sturdy and comfortable drive. The car reinforces new safety features like Speed-sensing, auto door locks, height adjustment. Apart from this the Elite i20 and i20 active offers half a dozen airbags which institute them as one among the safest cars in the segment.
Hyundai listed the new 1.4-litre Dual VTVT, four-cylinder petrol engine on the company’s Indian website. The official launch of new Hyundai Elite i20 is expected in the days following. The engine produces the best horsepower of 98 of 6000rpm power and releases a torque of 132nm at 4000rpm. The 4 –speed torque converter assigned here is the same unit observed in Verna 4S and Grand i10.
Commenting on the introduction of additional safety features and Automatic Transmission, Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. VP - Sales & Marketing, HMIL, said “The Hyundai i20 is super performer brand in the premium compact segment. As customer-centric, our goal is to enhance the overall value proposition of i20 brand and make it more aspirational and desirable for the wide range of different people.”
The i20 automatic doesn’t mention specific addition in features but found several misses out like ABS, front fog lamps, reverse parking sensors, auto headlamps, reverse parking, touchscreen infotainment system, projector light, smart key, DRLs and much more.

With a note “Made in India, Made for the World” brand i20 was sold over 1 million units across the country. i20 has been a successful brand globally bagging as many 34 awards since it launches in Indian automobile landscape. The car also won the prominent Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) award back in 2015.
Hyundai Elite i20 Asta (O) petrol version is priced at ₹ 7, 75,828, while the diesel variant costs around ₹ 8, 99,992 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). The prices have observed a hike of ₹ 15,000 over outgoing rates. The auto shift gearbox has been made available on the mid-level Magna model pricing at ₹ 9, 01,812.
