Indian wrestler Sushil Kumar is likely to follow the footsteps of the Great Khali. Two-time Olympic medalist to enter the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Network.

Sushil could share the ring with WWE stars like Roman Reigns and John Cena. Just like Khali, who beat The Undertaker in his first big match-up in ‘Smackdown.’

Sushil scheduled to meet WWE’s head of talent development Canyon Ceman here on Saturday to try and thrash out a deal. Talks about Sushil kumar joining and the prospect of the franchise are likely to be held. The contract of entering will worth crores if both parties agree with the deal and details will be out later.

“We are exploring all options for Sushil to get into professional wrestling and are in talks with WWE,” says, Raman Raheja, whose company Super Sports handles Sushil’s commercial interests.

WWE has long planned to expand in India after Khali’s exit in 2014 and signed two athletes, Satender Ved Pal and Lovepreet Sangha last year. Sushil is constantly trying to explore himself after being ignored by the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) for the Rio Olympics.

Ever since Sushil was refused to hold a trial in the 74 kg category, he moved to Delhi High Court for relief. India remained unrepresented in the category as Narsingh Pancham Yadav, who was backed by the wrestling federation, was handed a four-year ban by the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) on the day of his bout in Rio.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) had filed an appeal with CAS after Narsingh was let off by NADA’s anti-doping and disciplinary panel after two of his samples returned positive for methandienone, an anabolic steroid.
