Famous Tennis Star Rafael Nadal has Opened Tennis Academy in his hometown on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca, with his rival and legendary tennis star Roger Federer as the guest of honor. The academy was built in 24,000 square meters and they will provide tennis lessons along with academics and reports.

Nadal said “It’s his dream to establish an academy and now it came true”. Federer and President-CEO of Telefonica, Jose Maria Alvarez-Pallete, unveiled the facilities to numerous guests and officials on Wednesday.

The people who present at the event are President of the Balearic Government Francina Armengol, the presidents of the International Tennis Federation and the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), David Hagerty and Chris Kermode, and the chairman of Wimbledon Phillip Brook.

It is the biggest sports centre which consists of the residence, 26 clay courts, a fitness centre, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a seven-a-side soccer field, among other sports facilities.

By this academy, they are providing employment for 140 people to work in the sports center including Rafael Nadal Foundation and a museum.

Nadal said “It is my dream project and I worked hard for many years to get the complete structure and Iam grateful to everyone who helped me to get this success.” He added that ”Roger and I didn’t forget how to play tennis, and we are working to return to compete at the highest level.”

Recently Nadal suffered from an injury; he didn’t reveal a timetable for his return to the court or if he would play in the Basel Open or the Paris-Bercy Masters.

Federer said” Up to now I don’t have an academy like this” he appreciated the idea.He also appreciated nadal that “I’ve never seen someone with this much power and top spin and intensity, coming into tennis”.
