Google I/O 2017 Conducts from May 17th to 19th at Mountain View

This year Google I/O 2017 is going to be held at mountains’ view Shoreline Amphitheatre from May 17th to 19th 2017. Same as last year they are conducting this 2017 event at the same place.

The venue is very closer to the Google Plex. From Sundar Pichai’s office, you can see this both stages as twins. The Google Company didn’t announce the dates till now. They tweeted some puzzles as ‘Save the date’. The answer to this puzzle is may 17, 18 and 19th, 2017.

Google Started Testing Instant Apps Technology

One of the person from Google Developer unit said  “Around the world, from here to there, to the most clever minds, the secret will share,” with the hashtag #savethedate. The smart people have figured out the puzzles, which revealed the dates and location.

In Google I/O 2017 official website, they didn’t mention about dates and schedule. Google can be expected to reveal the registration process for the I/O 2017 event soon in their website.

Like last year this year also Google can use this event to release next Android version. In last year meet they have released ‘Android N’ later on it is named as Nougat. We hope this year also Google will announce the next version of Android

Google to kill Docs, Slides, Sheets older version apps

In 2016 they conducted at Google back yard. We expect this year Google will arrange a new system to avoid the long lines.

This year they are conducting 11th Google I/O conference in Mountain View. Last year they conducted a meet on artificial intelligence, virtual reality, daydream and its assistant-focused Allo app along with Google Home speaker. This year we have to wait and see at which topics Google is going to conduct the conference.

Google Started Testing Instant Apps Technology

At last Search Engine giant Google made an first step on what it had promised 9 months back. Yes Google had made its first move on bringing the instant apps live to its users.

The Instant apps Concept was first unveiled at last year’s Google I/O Conference. The main theme behind the Google’s instant apps is allowing user to know all the content in the app before installing it.

If the Instant app technology was introduced fully, then users have the advantage of selecting which app to download by having a real-time preview. This would help them to install the right application according to their need which in turn would save some time.

Google stated that they were testing the new technology on a limited number of smartphones. Depending on the results, the update bite-size will vary.

The early trail of the interesting technology will include popular apps like BuzzFeed,Periscope, Viki, and Wish. The Techgiant will expand its trail only after getting a good amount of positive feed back from the users.

Google on Android blogpost stated that “To develop an instant app, you’ll need to update your existing Android app to take advantage of Instant Apps functionality and then modularize your app so part of it can be downloaded and run on-the-fly. You’ll use the same Android APIs and Android Studio project. Today, you can also take some important steps to be ready for Instant Apps development. The full SDK will be available in the coming months.”

Google announced that it would shut down the older versions of many of its Drive apps or G Suite apps such as Docs, Sheets, Slides and Google Drive. That means all the Older version apps will no longer available on Android and iOS devices starting from 3rd April 2017.

The company will notify the users who are currently using an older version and have to update to the newer versions which start from 1st March 2017. People can find the entire list of Older version apps that Google will kill on 3rd April which is as follows.

“If you are using any of these unsupported versions, we encourage you to download and install the latest version of that mobile application. Note that similar Web and desktop applications will not be affected by this change,” Google explains in its post.

Hence those who are using any of these Older version apps, have to upgrade to the newer versions in the settings menu. However, many users prefer older versions for various reasons like hardware issues, play services and much more. Google has updated its voice apps with new features. Google Voice now more stylish, included with many more features like group chat, photo sharing, voice mail transcriptions.

They have released these new versions on mobile and web. In this version Google voice has separate tabs for your text messages. Conversations stay in one thread, so you can easily see all messages from all contacts at one place. Much better messaging experience with the support of a group or photo MMS as well as in notification replies.

Google+ Update to Bring Back Events, Adds New Features, Zoom

Google is also making plans for voicemail transcription for Spanish and will improve accuracy over time. It also announced more features and updates will introduce in the voice apps on android, ios and web.

It has been recently rolled out on Android phones on the features of Sprint and Roger networks allowing customers to take advantage of next generations SMS technology. This advanced messaging technology will come with features like iMessage, like group chats where you can name the group, add or remove members, as well as things like reading receipts and typing indicators.

New Google Voice App is Coming up, Says Google

The Google Company notified that Hangouts integration with Google voice didn’t change in this relaunch. If you are using hangout as messaging app, you can continue. In new Google Voice app, these hangouts are the default setting. You also have the option to disconnect hangouts to keep out the apps separate.

They have released this update when the Google’s company messaging strategy in flux. At one hand it is trying to make default messenger app like iMessage-like support for RCS. It also maintains hangouts and it is launched with two new apps aimed at consumers messaging app  Allo and FaceTime rival Duo.

Android has introduced the new feature with the name of instant tethering in Google play services. We use the mobile hotspot to access the internet, but it takes some time to tether manually. So Google has introduced this feature

Google Offline App: Don’t let a spotty connection stop you from searching

In this instant tethering, it is linked up with the devices which are connected to the Google account. It helps you to stay on online when your connection is lost. In case if you lost the internet connection, it will ask you to tether with another device. For this process, no additional setup is required. They use Bluetooth to negotiate the connection.  It will also show the battery level of another device

It works on a server side component and in Google play services 10.2 version. This feature will work on the devices running on Nougat 7.1.1 like Nexus, pixel. The Nexus 9 and Pixel C are only supported as clients. This user can connect to the compatible devices, and it also works on the marshmallow.

Google Play reduces Android App Updates Size by 90% for faster downloads

Phones like Pixel XL will act as hotspot side, and these two phones can connect to each other with instant tethering. This feature is testing on more devices. There is server side component attached to this device, so you can’t see this features immediately after installing from new play services.
