UPSC ESE Exam 2016

The Union Public Service Commission is going to release the Engineering Services Examination Notification. Candidates who are fascinated about this UPSC ESE Exam 2016, can apply before the mentioned dates. The commission has provided the vacancy details in every engineering branch in various government departments such as Indian Railways, AEE, and Indian Supply Services etc.

The commission has released the UPSC ESE Exam 2016 notification for 676 vacancies in Civil Engineering (258 posts), Mechanical Engineering (192 posts), Electrical Engineering (123) and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (103 posts). All the seats are reserved as per the reservation policy of the government of India. The UPSC ESE Eligibility details will be furnished in the official UPSC ESE Exam 2016 notification.

UPSC has also announced to make some changes in the exam pattern. UPSC Engineering Services Examination has three stages likely, Preliminary exam, Mains examination and personality test (interview). The first paper (Prelims) will be common to all that covered questions on general studies and engineering aptitude which carries 200 marks. The second paper will be given on engineering specific with a maximum of 300 marks. Both Paper-I and Paper-II will be of objective type.

Candidates who selected from the Stage-I will be called for Stage-II (Mains), the exam will be conventional type rather than objective type. The Mains exam papers consists of questions on engineering based on the branches (Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics & Telecommunications). The stage-II exam is conducted for 600 marks.

Aspirants who meet the cut off marks of two stages will be called for the final selection process i.e., interview which holds the weightage of 200 marks. The final merit list will be prepared considering all the stages and posting will be done according to the available vacancies.

This year the scheduled date of the ESE exam is before the GATE exam, Until last year, it was conducted after the GATE for the candidates to prepare for the ESE exam. A massive number of candidates will apply for the exam, the competition is also more. To crack this exam, applicants need to prepare well.
