Good News for the Government Employees! Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) is now instructed all the departments and cited them in ensuring the timely promotions for the employees. This was finalized by conducting the meetings of DPC (Departmental Promotion Committee) in time.
All the central government departments have been asked to organize the meetings of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC). This motto of the meeting is to verify the details over “abnormal delay” in providing the career benefits for the government employees. After noticing the cases of delay, they have come up for holding the meetings of DPC and decides about the employee’s promotions. The propaganda calendar is also issued during these meetings by the DoPT (Department of Personnel and Training).

Things regarding the delay of the many promotion posts were brought up to the notice of Government. The reason behind lying vacant is due to abnormal delay in convening DPCs.
The DoPT said so that, “The objective of timely promotions of employees in various ministries and departments can be achieved only by holding DPC meetings.”
They added, “given above, all ministerial departments are again advised to ensure strict compliance of instructions in order achieve the desired objectives of the timely convening of DPCs or preparation of approved select panels within the prescribed time frame,” However, there are about 50.68 lakh central government employees in India.
