Hike Messenger for Android Rolls Out Video Calling Feature

Hike Messenger has rolled out the hike messenger video calling feature as an update for its Android OS users. However, the company launched its beta version way back in September itself. The beta version was distributed only among a selected users as all do.

After successful implementation, now the company has decided to release the same version formally to all its Android OS smartphone users.

Hike messenger video calling android apps will be made available to the users soon. However, the company has not yet officially announced the date of launch. Hence it is still the expectation and pending for the release.

Hike competitors such as Facebook, Viber, Skype, WhatsApp, and Instagram has already on the way to launch the live video calling app.

The Hike team stated that the video call app would enable the user to experience simple, reliable and high quality.

The developers of the app pushed the 2.16.260 beta update for windows, and it seems like the video call feature was readily available for users. Usage of the feature is made easy by just a click on the menu to make a video call within the contact list. The app not only shows the option for the voice call but also provides an option to make a video call from the same menu.

Another alternative way is to click on the contact and view more details another option of making a video is also available for users. For easy access, the video calling feature is baked right into the app.

The feature works as simple as a voice call connecting user on the other end by just a tap. History of all calls will be shown together in call history and notifications will be popped out just like when you miss a voice call.

Long back in September 2009, Facebook and Twitter came with Mentions. Later this ‘Mentions’ has been updated to the maximum of all Social Networking sites including LinkedIn to enable the interaction easy and effective to the convenience of users.

Now, to your surprise, Whatsapp Messenger also joins the list. These mentions are live to the Whatsapp users with the recent new Andriod Beta Update. This Mentions feature is available with the Whatsapp Beta version 2.16.272.

The Mention feature (@) enables to quote a specific person in the groups. By using ‘@’ symbol, we get a list of all the people who are present in that particular group. We can choose even a specific person by his starting letter of the user and text him back while in the group. One-to-One chats do not support this feature as only one person will only be present in the conversation.

Whatsapp Will Read Out Your Messages Soon

As Facebook has acquires Whatsapp in October 2014, Whatsapp has been getting updated with many new features. Formatted text in Whatsapp like Bold (*text*), Italic (_text_) and strikethrough (~text~) were introduced features. These features work even after mentioning a person in the message.

Reply/Quote option has made live recently to reply to a specific message. By holding on the message and a tap on the reply symbol, you can quote; that specific message will be embedded into the text box.

The most interestingly long rumoured upcoming “Video Calling” feature is suggested first on i0S and then to the Android users. This Whatsapp Video Calling feature will be available to Window Phone users along with i0S and Andriod users.

WhatsApp To Switch On Video Calling For Android beta Users And An Update Feature For Document Sharing

Well, the Video Calling feature may go live soon, but the date was not yet confirmed.

Google recently has tasted success with Google Duo. May be after some improvements, it is forecasted that Group video calling feature may also be live in future by Google.

We can’t expect Whatsapp Messenger with Video Calling feature as it doesn’t have a group calling feature like Facebook Messenger.

Google introduced two new apps for communication at I/O developer conference, back in May. ‘Allo’ for text messaging and ‘Duo’ for video calling. It seems Allo is more interesting than Duo. Allo makes use of the intelligent Google Assistant bot, but Duo is out first. Google hopes it’ll withstand among swam of apps. Laser focus provides a high-quality mobile experience. The app is out for both iPhone and Android phones.

Designed to be 1-to-1 video chat, a client without all the complications and baggage of hangouts. The app is based on phone number, and users can chat with anyone on their contact list that has Duo. Out of the gate, Duo runs on both Android and iOS. The operation of the app is quite simple with just one tap to start a call. A user will be able to see a live video of the caller before answering the incoming call. Google named it ‘knock knock’ and users can turn it off, iOS users don’t have access to see Knock Knock previews unless the app gets open.

Duo has an option to flip over to mobile data when a poor WiFi quality is detected. Google says Duo is available for download now in few countries and will be out worldwide sooner. Duo is being billed as a more reliable and simpler way to see family and friends as you talk to them.

WhatsApp beta version v2.16.80 for Android devices is now available for download. As of now the app is just available to beta testers from Google play beta testing program.

WhatsApp comes closer to Video-call Update

The video calling feature is currently available on Viber, Snapchat, Facebook, Messenger, Hangouts, KakaoTalk and one of the best options for video calling “SKYPE.”
