US Continues to Threat Russia Using the Weapon of Economy

Things are still not alright between the 2 powerful nations: the United States and Russia. The chief capital of the United States, Washington continues to impose more pain on Russia using economy as a tool. The more intensified and stricter economic policies, which are imposed by the United States, are sure to suppress Russia to a deeper extent.

The severe impositions are reported not to stop as long as the country does not behave in accordance to the expectations of the United States. It is more like a threat that the United States has foisted on Russia and it would all end only if the US is convinced with Russia’s steps and actions.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump and his team of administration officials said to the world as recently as Tuesday that the US lawmakers are ready to impose stronger, stricter, and very serious economic measures, which can multiply the pain that Russia is undergoing. The US is all set to invent and splash counteractions and throw-back activities against Russia.

The United States perceives Russia in a rebel manner, wherein the country’s malign acts and activities are testing the patience of the United States. The US has decided that such ambitious and adventuresome attitudes will be counteracted for sure.

We can bring much more economic pain to bear using our powerful range of authorities – and that we will not hesitate to do so if its conduct does not demonstrably and significantly change,” said Sigal Mandelker, the Deputy Treasury Secretary to the Senate Banking Committee.

Trump has been very confident on his view points and has also stuck to his thoughts. He repeatedly said to the world about his perceptions. He would love to tie up with Moscow and there is no personal rivalry involved in the issue.

In order to build better relations with Russia, Trump met Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia last month. Trump was very clear about this step of building better bond with Russia, but the results are strongly against the scenario. The bondage and relationship between the US and Russia are further tamed and stressed.

President Trump Accuses News Media of Being ‘Out of Control’

Trump Slams Media

US President Donald Trump launched an extraordinary condemnation of his critics, complaining he inherited a “mess” and slamming media reports that his campaign was constantly in contact with Russia as “fake news”.

Trump held a news conference on Thursday that lasted an hour and 15 minutes, where he displayed a sense of anger and grievance rarely vented by a President in public, CNN reported.

“I have never seen more dishonest media, frankly than the political media,” Trump said, later slamming leaks to the press from the intelligence community some of which led to the resignation of national security adviser Michael Flynn.

“The leaks are real. The leaks are absolutely real. The news is fake because so much of the news is fake.”

Trump was repeatedly pressed on whether his campaign staff had been in contact with Russia, as a widening drama over his alleged connections with Moscow dominates news coverage.

“Nobody that I know of. How many times do I have to answer this question? Russia is a ruse. I have nothing to do with Russia. Haven’t made a phone call to Russia in years,” Trump said.

“I own nothing in Russia, I have no loans in Russia, I don’t have any deals in Russia,” Trump said. “Russia is fake news“.

The President went on to say: I’m here again to take my message straight to the people. As you know, our administration inherited many problems across government and across the economy. To be honest, I inherited a mess. It’s a mess. At home and abroad, a mess.”

Trump in fact predicted how this “animated and unorthodox” news conference will be interpreted in the press. “Tomorrow (Friday), they will say: ‘Donald Trump rants and raves at the press’,” Trump said. “I’m not ranting and raving. I’m just telling you. You know, you’re dishonest people. But… but I’m not ranting and raving. I love this. I’m having a good time doing it.”

The news conference was not scheduled until Thursday morning, but aides said Trump was “itching to get out and defend himself”. A senior administration official told CNN that Trump walked into the Oval Office on Thursday morning and said: “Let’s do a press conference today”.

The news conference was “the President’s idea, 100 per cent”, the official said. “I’m here today to update the American people on the incredible progress that has been made in the last four weeks since my inauguration,” Trump continued addressing the conference, after quickly announcing his new pick for labour secretary, Alexander Acosta.

“We have made incredible progress. I don’t think there’s ever been a president elected who in this short period of time has done what we’ve done,” Trump said.

And saying he resented picking up newspapers and turning on the television to hear reports that his White House was in chaos, Trump said, “This administration is running like a fine-tuned machine“. He complained much of what was reported about his administration was unfair, but said: “I don’t mind a bad story if it’s true”.

He also lashed out at a coverage of his temporary travel ban on nationals of seven mostly Muslim nations that caused a weekend of chaos at the nation’s airports before being suspended by a federal court.

“We had a very smooth roll out of the travel ban. But we had a bad court,” Trump said, adding “We had a bad decision, that is the only thing that is wrong with the travel ban.” But the President also said a new executive order would be tailored to the court’s ruling to ensure that it could legally go into force.

Michael Flynn resigns as National Security Advisor over Russia ordeal

Michael Flynn

The US National Security Adviser Michael Flynn had resigned from the Trump administration. On late Monday night over improper communications with Russia’s ambassador to the United States, then misleading Vice President Mike Pence about it.

Micheal Flynn, the top White House national security aide to the president, is now facing trouble for a phone call he had with Russian Ambassador Sergey I. Kislyak in December.

“I inadvertently briefed the Vice President-elect and others with incomplete information regarding my phone calls with the Russian ambassador. I have sincerely apologised to the President and the Vice President, and they have accepted my apology,” Flynn wrote according to a copy of his resignation letter obtained by CNN.

“I am tendering my resignation, honoured to have served our nation and the American people in such a distinguished way,” he wrote. “I know with the strong leadership of President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence and the superb team they are assembling, this team will go down in history as one of the greatest presidencies in US history.”

The move comes less than a month into the job, making him one of the shortest-serving senior presidential advisers in modern history.General Keith Kellogg will be the interim national security adviser, sources told CNN.

He most recently served as National Security Council chief of staff. A senior administration official said Kellogg, retired General David Petraeus and former Vice Admiral Bob Harward are possible replacements for Flynn.

Flynn stepped down after days of reports that he had spoken to the ambassador in December about American sanctions against Russia, weeks before Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20.

He previously had denied that he had any substantive conversations with Ambassador Sergey I. Kislyak, and Pence repeated that claim in television earlier this month.

But earlier on Monday, a former administration official said the Justice Department last month warned the White House that Flynn had not been fully forthright about his conversations with the ambassador, the New York Times reported.

As a result, the Justice Department feared that Flynn could be vulnerable to blackmail by Moscow.

Officials said Pence has told others in the White House that he believed that Flynn lied to him by saying he had not discussed the topic of sanctions on a call with the Russian ambassador in late December.

Even the mere discussion of policy – and the apparent attempt to assuage the concerns of an American adversary before Trump took office – represents a remarkable breach of protocol, the daily said.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has been examining Flynn’s phone calls as he has come under growing questions about his interactions with Russian officials and his management of the National Security Council.

Earlier on Monday, Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, told reporters that “the president is evaluating the situation.”  Spicer said Trump would be talking to Pence and others about Flynn’s future.

In a sign of the internal confusion over Flynn’s status, the statement from Spicer came shortly after the president’s counsellor, Kellyanne Conway, said in an interview on MSNBC that Flynn had the “full confidence of the President”.

The White House confirmed on Monday that Flynn had apologized to Pence.

The West should “finally realise the combat against terrorism does not tolerate double standards or hidden agendas, and that inter-governmental cooperation must involve lawful authorities of a country where the anti-terror operation is conducted”, Syromolotov said.

According to him, the world needs a broad coalition to fight international terrorism, in accordance with the UN Charter, international rights protection and decisions of the UN Security Council.

He said that during this fight some countries were supporting terrorists, thinking wrongly that they can control them.

The minister stressed that despite the existing differences, Russia and the US remain natural allies in matters of counter-terrorism, and it was in the interests of both countries to enhance and strengthen this partnership.
