Hike Wallet Money Transfers: Hike Messenger Rolled out UPI Interface in its App

Hike Messenger has unveiled a redesigned app with the launch of its latest version Hike 5.0. The latest version of the app gets UPI-based payments with the Hike Wallet feature. This new Wallet feature in Hike 5.0 will be rolled out for users by Sunday and few users have received the update by now. Detailing more, the Hike Wallet feature will be rolled out in Android first and then for iOS users.

The company says that Hike 5.0 introduces brand new colors and fonts. Besides that, it also comes with many other features. The stories have been disappeared, and old timeline feature has got back. Users can set their moods as profile photos and post photos, text, and videos on their timeline which stay forever.

Hike Messenger to get UPI-Based Interface to Enable Digital payments

Now, Hike Wallet users can make bank transfers instantly by making use of UPI. Money transfers can be made within the wallet for the users who does not have a bank account. The company has partnered with YES Bank for its banking activities.

The company believes that the Hike Wallet will boost the UPI adoption in the country. “With more than 100 million registered users currently on Hike Messenger, this launch makes Hike the largest UPI-based platform in India overnight,” says Hike in a statement.

Besides Hike Wallet money transfers, the app also support postpaid bill payments and prepaid recharges. The app size has been now cut down to 25 MB which was 40 MB earlier and comes with a 128-bit SSL encryption

“Over the last 6 months, we’ve been working to bring a brand new experience to our users with one question in mind - How do we take all the things that users love about Hike and make it even better? Hike 5.0 is our most ambitious step in that direction till date,” says, Hike Messenger founder and CEO Kavin Bharti Mittal at the launch event.

Hike Messenger for Android Rolls Out Video Calling Feature

Hike Messenger has rolled out the hike messenger video calling feature as an update for its Android OS users. However, the company launched its beta version way back in September itself. The beta version was distributed only among a selected users as all do.

After successful implementation, now the company has decided to release the same version formally to all its Android OS smartphone users.

Hike messenger video calling android apps will be made available to the users soon. However, the company has not yet officially announced the date of launch. Hence it is still the expectation and pending for the release.

WhatsApp Video Calling Feature Beta Version Download Live on Android

Hike competitors such as Facebook, Viber, Skype, WhatsApp, and Instagram has already on the way to launch the live video calling app.

The Hike team stated that the video call app would enable the user to experience simple, reliable and high quality.

It features a single tap button that is intended for chat threads with friends. The developers expressed their confidence that the app works even under challenging network conditions which include 2G with good quality.

Another feature of Hike Messenger is the ‘Live Caller Preview.’ This feature will give the user a chance to preview before they answer a live video call. This feature adds an extra benefit for video calling.

Hike Messenger has raised $175 million funds from Tencent Holdings and Foxconn Technology Group there by joining the unicorn club with USD 1.4 billion. The other members of the Unicorn club include Flipkart, Snapdeal and Ola from India.

To be a part of this organization club, the startups must have a valuation over $1 billion. The new member Hike becomes 10th one from India. The present investors Tiger Global, Bharti Enterprises and Softbank Group also participated in the funding round.
