Vodafone revamping Vodafone RED Postpaid plans

Several reports announced regarding the Vodafone India’s revamp of their postpaid plans to stay in the competition. On the launch of Reliance Jio Welcome Offer, most of all the telecom service providers introduced new calls and data offers. Earlier the company launched Vodafone RED Postpaid plans with prescribed offer prices.

The Indian telecom network introduced Vodafone RED Postpaid plans which offer unlimited calling, higher data and roaming. The company announced that they are modifying the Vodafone RED offers for postpaid users in coming days.

Vodafone Launches Unlimited Voice & Data Combo Packs

As per the reports, the telecom company is not introducing any new postpaid, but they are revamping the three affordable Vodafone RED Postpaid plans. So all the postpaid customers can avail this Vodafone red new user postpaid plan as it is soon going to launch.

The new Vodafone RED Postpaid plans include recharge of Rs. 499, Rs. 699 and Rs. 999 respectively. The cheaper plan under Vodafone RED offers is Rs. 499 which previously offers 1GB of data and unlimited local and STD calls. Now the revamped plan will provide 1GB of standard data along with additional 2GB of 4G data.

For the Rs. 699 plan, previously the company offered 2.5GB of data, but will soon increase the offer to 5GB data along with 2.5GB of 4G data extra. The Rs. 999 plan, currently offering 5GB of data and soon the company is going to offer 5GB data along with 3.5GB of 4G data.

In addition to this, who joins in Vodafone and gets a new 4G handset will get 9GB of 4G data. There is no change in the previous Vodafone RED Postpaid plans apart from data offer. All the local and STD calls are unlimited to the mentioned bill period, and roaming incoming calls are also free. The updated Vodafone RED Postpaid plans will go live soon.

 Idea Introduced e-KYC in 22 circles for Prepaid and Postpaid

Idea Cellular rollout with “ electronic-Know Your Customer” (e-KYC) across its service centers all over the country. Idea Enables e-KYC based sim activation by submitting bio-metrics (Iris/fingerprints) for both Prepaid and Postpaid for new customers across its service centers in 22 circles.

This was launched after a successful pilot by Idea in Delhi circle with UIDAI association and also with DoT guidelines. E-KYC allows the customers for availing of instant verification with their ‘Aadhaar’ number for quicker Sim activation.

The facility for Biometric verification for all the customers has rolled out across the country to the convenience of Idea’s users. This will be extended in phased manner to all multi-branded outlets.

Speaking about this e-KYC initiative, Mr.Navanit Narayana, Chief Service Officer, Idea Cellular said, “The roll-out of paperless and completely digital mode of customers based on Aadhaar is in line with Idea’s customer centric approach. It will ensure quicker customer acquisition and greater convenience for new customers. This is also a step towards achieving a greener environment through reduced paper usage and is a key for enabling the vision of Digital India by facilitating many e-Governance services to be rolled out in future.”

Airtel and Vodafone launches e-KYC verification using Aadhaar

The e- KYC process is not applicable to bulk, outstation and the foreign customers.

This e-KYC has been already launched by Reliance Jio on September 5th and Airtel introduced on 19th of this month. Airtel has been a close tight rival to the Idea cellular since the past years. BhartiAirtel had rolled out over 20,000 units of Aadhaar based e-KYC on Sunday. Airtel is expected for about 50,000 customers on board to come including rural users.

Idea Customers and seeking customers can now walk into any Idea Company Store or my idea outlet and avail fast paperless and secured service activation for both prepaid and post-paid users by using  ‘Aadhaar number’ for a biometric verification process.

Vodafone India offers Double Data Benefits for its Customers

India’s second largest telecom operator, Vodafone has cut down the data charges for its customers. The effective data benefits have been doubled for selected postpaid customers. It seems this move is to stop the outflow of customers as the new evolution Reliance Jio is gearing up for its commercial launch.

Jio is planning to attract a high revenue paying customers from various telco’s with an affordable data rates after its commercial launch. Vodafone postpaid customers who are opting data add-on packs will get the benefit for the next six months.

Airtel and Vodafone launches e-KYC verification using Aadhaar

For example, if you are Vodafone customer and using the 2GB data add-on pack of Rs.450 for one bill timing, the company will activate the double data benefits, which would last for the coming six months. Vodafone confirmed such developments and made available to selected postpaid customers across India. However, it is unclear about the availability of the offer for all postpaid customers.

Earlier, the company has slashed the data rates for prepaid customers to provide more benefits without spending more money. Vodafone also started offering unlimited voice calls and roaming on two high-end postpaid packs to grip tight its high revenue paying customers.

Followed by Bharati Airtel’s free offer of unlimited voice calls pack, Vodafone is also making its move to fence its high revenue generating customers from Reliance Jio.

Vodafone Red Offers more benefits for postpaid users

India’s second largest mobile carrier, Vodafone is offering free voice calls bundled with 3G/4G data for monthly committed high revenue paying customers. Earlier this month, Bharati Airtel also announced unlimited phone calls with 3G/4G data for its postpaid customers. Vodafone India launched these new plans under Vodafone Red, focusing mainly on their postpaid customers.

The real intention behind all these offers from the telecom service providers is to offend Reliance Jio’s move. Vodafone Red now offers six new plans ranging from Rs.499 to Rs. 1999 for subscription per month. The company provides all-in-one postpaid plans for high revenue assuring customers, who consume data, calls and SMS regularly. Subscribers have all the privilege to choose their plans based on their usage requirement.

Vodafone Red’s entry level subscription plans at Rs.499, 699 and 999 offers double data benefits with an attractive talk-time and 500 SMS for free. Whereas the top-end plans like 1699 and 1999 provide unlimited calls, free roaming, 500 SMS and 6GB and 8GB of data respectively.

However, Vodafone and Airtel may take almost equal share in attracting customers, as the offering is almost similar. Bharati Airtel offers 1GB 3G/4G data with unlimited calls for Rs.1199, while Vodafone committed to offering 1GB data with 700 minutes of voice calls for Rs.499.

All the leading telecom providers chopped down their data tariffs by 67 percent to counter the Reliance jio Dominance. Presently, Reliance Jio’s is presenting its free-trail subscription which offers 25GB data each month for three months with voice and SMS for free.

RCom Launches MoviNet Plan for Prepaid and Postpaid Users

RCom (Reliance Communications) understands the consumption of the key content pattern of the users and the company has introduced a new plan for their Prepaid and Postpaid Users. This plan with content bundled with data offers called MoviNet Plan.

It offers music, movies and internet access to their subscribers. To enable this plan, RCom has partnered with Hungama Play, and it provides the free subscription to their Entertainment-on-Demand Services along with any use of data.

Rcom conducted a study to understand the content consumption pattern of the people and after the study, movies and music are the main things that found to be increasing the content consumption. The company has mentioned that “Customers do hesitate to consume premium licensed video content, given the high subscription fees.”

The Plans of the MoviNet are as follows for the Prepaid Users:

The prepaid MoviNet Plan starts from Rs. 235 per month and this plan provide 2.5GB of Any-Use Data, including 1.25 GB of ‘Any-Time Data’ access and night data of 1.25 GB. The subscribers can also enjoy subscription-free unlimited access to a library of 8,000 movies, 50,000+ music videos and 3.5 million soundtracks which are valid for 28 days.

The entertainment content can be accessed through the web link, and the subscriber receives as SMS after availing the pack. Customers can also do multiple recharges on the MoviNet Plan. MRP and data benefits of the plan vary from one circle to other.

The Plans of the MoviNet are as follows for the Postpaid Users:

The MoviNet Plan for the postpaid users costs Rs.450 as the monthly rental. Besides the subscription to Hungama Play and the postpaid subscribers receives high-speed data of 3GB and 1000 min of local and STD calls in this plan.

The pack will also be introduced as recharge sachets in coming months which are valid for 1-day or 7-days at Rs. 10 and Rs. 49 respectively.
