India’s second largest mobile carrier, Vodafone is offering free voice calls bundled with 3G/4G data for monthly committed high revenue paying customers. Earlier this month, Bharati Airtel also announced unlimited phone calls with 3G/4G data for its postpaid customers. Vodafone India launched these new plans under Vodafone Red, focusing mainly on their postpaid customers.
The real intention behind all these offers from the telecom service providers is to offend Reliance Jio’s move. Vodafone Red now offers six new plans ranging from Rs.499 to Rs. 1999 for subscription per month. The company provides all-in-one postpaid plans for high revenue assuring customers, who consume data, calls and SMS regularly. Subscribers have all the privilege to choose their plans based on their usage requirement.
Vodafone Red’s entry level subscription plans at Rs.499, 699 and 999 offers double data benefits with an attractive talk-time and 500 SMS for free. Whereas the top-end plans like 1699 and 1999 provide unlimited calls, free roaming, 500 SMS and 6GB and 8GB of data respectively.
However, Vodafone and Airtel may take almost equal share in attracting customers, as the offering is almost similar. Bharati Airtel offers 1GB 3G/4G data with unlimited calls for Rs.1199, while Vodafone committed to offering 1GB data with 700 minutes of voice calls for Rs.499.
“The postpaid customer’s usage behaviour has evolved significantly with higher usage of roaming and data. With the new Vodafone RED, there is no more holding back- we are offering our postpaid customers an all-in-one plan that addresses their roaming, data, and voice needs comprehensively. The built in quotas with value added benefits like priority access and a virtual relationship manager, make the Vodafone RED experience truly worry free and delightful,” says, Sandeep Kataria, director – commercial, Vodafone India.
All the leading telecom providers chopped down their data tariffs by 67 percent to counter the Reliance jio Dominance. Presently, Reliance Jio’s is presenting its free-trail subscription which offers 25GB data each month for three months with voice and SMS for free.
