WhatsApp is taking after its parent company Facebook in turning into a social networking zone as reported. Jan-Koum, CEO, and co-founder of WhatsApp founded new functionality which let you mute and unmute status notifications for specific users and allows you to reply to status messages.

This latest WhatsApp feature seems to be borrowed from Snapchat Stories. The WhatsApp status message will let you reply to your contacts status messages.

Instant Messaging application WhatsApp has added new GIF search support for the Android Beta Version. In the month of August, this Facebook-owned messaging service has added the GIF option to send them as Video. Later WhatsApp has allowed the users to send the GIFs which are saved on their device.

The users are now able to search for the GIF directly in the Android Beta application. Currently, this feature is iOS WhatsApp application since November 2016.

Defense and Security organizations received alerts from central security agencies about the malicious activity of the Whatsapp virus. Some groups with the false name of NDA and NIA may breach and hack the personal information and banking data.

On December 30th an advisory was released to the defense and security organizations in all states about the virus file. There are two virus files which are circulating over the instant messaging application. This file has the capability of seeing the information of the users especially defense people.
