Facebook has now introduced a new feature that is one of its kind. Yes, Facebook has adapted augmented reality to build games that can be played by users while on the video call. The feature allows people to play AR games on one-to-one video calls or in groups. Multiple Facebook messenger users up to 6 can be connected on the video call to play the augmented reality games.

For now, Facebook is offering just two games and there’s nothing much to do. The famous social media company will soon add more games to add some thrill to its user experience. The two games available now are “Don’t smile” and “Asteroid attack”. According to reports, Facebook will launch two more games i.e. Kitten Kraze and Beach Bump in the coming days.

While the AR game Don’t smile is the virtual interpretation of the ultimate staring game, the Asteroid attack game requires users to guide a spaceship through their nose while avoiding obstacles. To get this new feature, you need to upgrade to the latest version of the messenger app. The feature might not be available in India as it has been launched recently.

Augmented reality is slowly becoming the key tool to improve the user experience. Facebook had previously added AR mask features to the messenger app. This new feature is indeed a leap towards AR gaming experience on messaging apps.  Facebook had introduced normal games on messenger app long back. This development is a bigger push.

Recently, In April, Snapchat rolled out its new AR gaming feature. This new updated version is called as Snappables and it is a great lead towards AR gaming.

Facebook introduces Messenger Day, another Snapchat stories like feature. This new Facebook Messenger Day feature is being rolled out for all users globally. As of now, there is no word on the launch of the feature in Windows OS, but will be available on Android and iOS. Just like Instagram stories and Snapchat Stories, the videos or the photos uploaded to Messenger Day will last 24 hours. Recently, Facebook has launched the similar feature on its WhatsApp Messenger status.

This new Facebook Messenger Day feature comes with a built-in camera button to take photos instantly. Besides that, the user can also apply art and effects to their pictures before sharing with others. The Aa option provides more than 5000 effects, frames, and stickers for users to scribble on their photos.

Facebook Replaces its Old Desktop Inbox With the Web Version of Messenger

“At the end of last year, we launched Messenger’s new fast, powerful built-in camera to help make your conversations better than ever. We love seeing how much fun people are having with Messenger’s new visual tools, especially our most popular art and effects like floating hearts and recently, Mardi Gras frames,” Stan Chudnovsky, Head of Product for Messenger, mentioned in a Blog post.

All these shared photos and videos will last for 24 hours and get disappears then after. There is no limit on stories which user can upload on Messenger Day. Users can also delete them if they wish, and can also choose who can see their stuff.

As we know, the Group Voice Calling option is available for mobile Messenger App and coming to the desktop version it is not available.
