BSNL Unveils Unlimited Local and STD calls at Rs 144

Following the launch of unlimited calls by several telecom service providers, the government-run BSNL has moved a step forward. The company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited announced the new Unlimited Local and STD calls offer of Rs 144 plan on Saturday.

The Unlimited Local and STD calls offer is available for the both prepaid and postpaid subscribers. In addition to this offer, customers can also enjoy free data. The Rs. 144 plan includes:

  • Unlimited Local and STD calls to any network with a validity period of one month.
  • Additional 300MB free data.

BSNL DataMail: Process to get email ids in 8 Indian languages explained

The BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Anupam Srivastava said, “With the new pack, calls are free and would be available for both prepaid and postpaid customers. Along with the announcement of Unlimited Local and STD calls new packages the company also includes the launch of 4,400 WiFi hotspots across the country.”

Srivastava added, “We have 4,400 Wi-Fi hotspots launched the country-wide. I think in Mahabalipuram near Chennai has comparable Wi-Fi hotspots. Our immediate strategy is to expand this. In next one year, we will have around 40,000 Wi-Fi hotspots throughout the country.”

According to the reports, the company has also obtained 2500MHz from the Government of India for launching services in rural areas. Other telecom operators namely Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular and Vodafone India already introduced unlimited calls offer to counter Reliance Jio.

Last year, the company launched the unlimited voice calling for the landline connections. And now they converted this offer for the mobile users as well. Previously, BSNL announced the unlimited broadband plan of Rs 249 launched in the month of September.

The Indian state-owned telecommunications company, BSNL announced that they are providing email addresses in eight regional languages. The company has partnered with Jaipur-based DataMail app which can download on any Android and iOS devices.

In line with government’s vision of making India cashless, BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) is offering free email services to its broadband users by launching DataMail service. From now onwards BSNL broadband users will be able to open the email ID in their regional language.

“BSNL is also known for its network in the rural and remote India, especially in 2G and 3G data. Launching free linguistic Email address service for its millions of customers is another definite step in fulfilling the dream of digital India taken by the Govt. of India Enterprise, BSNL,” said a release.

According to the Indian Telecom Services Performance Indicator Report released by TRAI, the total internet users in India are about 350.48 million. This estimated number is just 30 percent of the India’s population and remaining 70% is not having access mostly living in rural areas.

A few months back, Government of India introduced .bharat domain in Indian languages to increase the reach of internet users. With the aim to cover around 70% of the country’s population living in remote areas, the government introduced the domain.

How to get the Datamail :

  • BSNL broadband subscribers can download the DataMail from both Android (Play Store) and iOS (App Store) devices.
  • The user has to select the respective regional language for the email ID.
  • Tap the tick mark on checkbox ‘I am a broadband customer’.
  • Enter your mobile number.
  • Soon after that, you will receive the OTP via SMS on your registered phone number.
  • Now type the email address which you want to use in your own language.

This DataMail service is the world’s first application which supports Indian languages. As per the reports, most spoken languages in India are:

  • Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Gujarati, Kannada, Punjabi and Assamese.

Indian State-Owned telecom company BSNL is following the same strategy what other mobile operators do in recent times. Yes, after the entry of Reliance Jio into the telecom market, all leading mobile communication operators in the country are coming up with new packs and innovative plans to attract their customers.

Jio has created an enormous impact on telecom circles, and to compete with that, leading telecom operators like Airtel, Idea and Vodafone have been introduced exclusive combo packs and voice calling plans to their users. Now, BSNL is also following the same, and it has launched new plans for its customers.

Idea Launches New Combo Packs for Post Paid Customers: Make Unlimited Calls with Rs 1199 and Rs 1599

BSNL has released unlimited voice calling services along with free data usage for its prepaid customers to compete with Reliance Jio. The mobile communication operator has announced unlimited voice calling offer for just Rs 99 to its prepaid users along with 300 MB of free mobile data with a validity of 28 days. If you recharge with RC99, then you have to make unlimited STD and Local BSNL to BSNL voice calls along with 300 MB of data usage.

Currently, BSNL Rs 99 Plan will be available in Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Kolkata, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and West Bengal circles for BSNL to BSNL networks only. For other networks, the offer will differ from Rs 119 o 149.

BSNL said, “The Company has also launched new combo STV for Rs 339 which also provides unlimited voice calling and data services to other networks. Recharge with BSNL Rs 339 Combo Pack; then you can get unlimited local and STD calls from BSNL to any network with 1GB of Data with a validity of 28 days.”

BSNL has already launched Rs 1099 pack for offering unlimited 3G service with 30 days validity.

Speaking to media, BSNL Director for Consumer Mobility RK Mittal said, “BSNL tariff plans are most competitive, and the company is always looking to provide best offers and excellent services to our respected customers at an affordable price.”

As we know, earlier other leading telecom operators Bharti Airtel and Idea have come up with new plans which offer unlimited free voice calls and limited mobile data for Rs 150 and Rs 350 with a validity of 28 days to overcome the Reliance Jio. Vodafone had also released similar tariff plans like Airtel and Idea.

BSNL Introduced STV 498 Plan with Unlimited Data

Currently, Reliance Jio is offering 4G free voice calling and data usage under “Happy New year” offer which has extended up to March 31, 2017. Reliance group chairman Mukesh Ambani recently announced that Jio services extended to 31st March 2017 and it registered 52 million customers just after the launch in September.

These latest plans come close to recommend Jio’s Rs149 plan which it can provide free calls to any network for 28 days without roaming charges. The Pack also offers 300 MB 4G data access during daytime and unlimited data usage at nights.

BSNL state-run telecom network’s chairman, Anupam Srivastava previously hinted that the telecom circle would come up with a new combo plan which offers unlimited voice calls free for a lifetime to give tough competition to latest telecom sensation Reliance Jio.

However two months later, the same person had informed that the plan is on the way and speaking about this he said that BSNL is working on a plan which costs Rs 149 and offers free voice calling for the lifetime along with a certain amount of 3G data as well.
