An act of writing by hand using an instrument such as pencil, pen or brush is called handwriting. January 23 is the National Handwriting Day, a day to write a note with the pen or pencil and practice the fine Art of Handwriting.

Handwriting is particularly important especially in case of signatures. Some business commissions analyze the handwriting before hiring a new employee. No two persons have the same handwriting or writing style; it is thought that person’s handwriting is based on his or her fingerprint.

National Handwriting day was started by The Writing Instrument Manufactures Association in 1977 with the motive of promoting the usage of pencils, pens and writing paper. On the birthday of John Hancock, who was the first person to sign the Declaration of Independence is celebrated as National Handwriting Day.

Heretofore, children learned how to write in cursive in classrooms as a part of handwriting, but now the government wants to implement the latest technologies in the classrooms to decrease the usage of paper. A Study published in 2006 says, children can write more words faster by handwriting than typing on a keyboard.

The size of the letter reveals about whether you are party butterfly or shy person. If you write the small letters, you are shy or withdrawn, studious, concentrated and meticulous. Average writing individuals are well-adjusted and adaptable.
• Space between words
Wide space represents you enjoy your freedom and don’t like to be overwhelmed or crowded. If you are giving narrow spaces between your words, then you can’t stand to be alone. You tend to crowd people and be intrusive.
• Shape of Letters
Round letters represent you are creative and artistic, whereas pointed letters says you are more aggressive, intense, very intelligent and curious. Connected letters tell you are logical, systematic and make decisions carefully.
No Slant: You don’t let your emotions get the best of you, you tend to be logical and practical.
Slant to the right: Which means you are open to new experiences and enjoy meeting new people.
Slants to the Left: You like to keep things to yourself and fond to work behind the scenes. If you are right handed and your handwriting slants to the left, you may be expressing rebellion.
