Land Rover Evoque has been one of the JLR’s (Jaguar Land Rover) best-selling SUVs in India. In the year 2010, the compact SUV was launched with the petrol engine. This variant is not available in the range in last few years. Now Land Rover has relaunched the Petrol Powered Evoque variant in India. This new model from JLR arrives with the price of Rs 53.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The petrol variant Evoque mainly consists of 2.0 litre, four-cylinder engine which makes 236 bhp and 340 Nm of torque. It is sported with the 9-speed automatic gearbox with all-wheel drive.

The same engine is also the same which is on the Land Rover Discovery Sport. The new Variant Petrol Evoque is only available in SE trim when compared with the Discovery Sport which is available in the HSE (higher trim level). In Fact, the petrol variant is powered Evoque is now actually cheaper than the petrol variant powered Discovery Sport priced at Rs 56.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

During the launch of this new petrol powered Evoque, Rohit Suri, President of Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd. says “We are excited to introduce the 2017 Model Year New Range Rover Evoque with a 2.0 l petrol derivative. The addition of the 2.0 l petrol derivative reinforces our commitment towards customers who aspire to drive this fabulous vehicle with a powerful petrol engine.”

The Land Rover Evoque now joins the list of the petrol powered SUVs which were launched in last year during the diesel ban in the area of NCR. This area has restricted the registrations of any diesel vehicle which has an engine capacity more than 2000cc. If you consider the premium SUVs with the petrol engine which includes the Honda CR-V, Toyota Fortuner, Porsche Macan/Cayenne, Mercedes-Benz GLA/GLC variants, BMW X3/X5 and Jeep Grand Cherkoee SRT.

Some of the cheaper petrol variants with the 20 lakh rage includes the vehicles like Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Mahindra Scorpio, Ford Ecosport and more.
