In what can be termed as an unfortunate moment for Indian cinema, veteran actor Dilip Kumar has been admitted to the Lilavati hospital in Mumbai due to respiratory problems.
Dr. Jalil Parkar of Lilavati hospital told reporters that the actor was admitted to the hospital at around 2 am due to respiratory problems. The actor is being closely observed by the doctors, he added.

“He is stable now and the actor is not in ICU. He is doing fine.” Nayar informed.
“I got a call that he was unwell. He had fever and had vomited a few times. He was suffering from pneumonia as well. His white blood cells had shot up. We thought it would be better to admit him to hospital,” the doctor informed the media.
Speaking about his successful career, the actor, who was born as Mohammad Yusuf Khan, adopted the screen name of Dilip Kumar. The 93-year-old actor had awarded some great movies to Bollywood, such as, ‘Mughal-e-Azam’,‘Ganga Jamuna’, ‘Madhumati’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Ram Aur Shyam’ and ‘Karma’.
The actor was given the title of ‘Tragedy King’ for his amazing performances as a doomed lover in films, such as, ‘Mela, ‘Andaz’, ‘Deedar’, ‘Baabul’, Deedar’ and ‘Jogan’. The last movie he did was ‘Qila’ in the year 1998.
In the year 2015, Dilip Kumar was awarded with the Padma Vibhushan. Besides this, he was also honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 1991 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994 for his outstanding contribution to the Indian cinema.
