Samsung Galaxy S3 Tablet, Gear VR and Galaxy Book Announced

Many smartphone manufacturers made their presence at the MWC 2017 to showcase their products. The South Korean company Samsung is on the list of presenting their amazing products at the event. The company showcased Samsung Galaxy S3 Tablet, Galaxy Book, Galaxy Gear VR and Galaxy 8 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

In addition to this, Samsung also announced the official release date of its next flagship model Samsung Galaxy 8. The company held a separate event in Barcelona on 27th February where various tech personalities and mainstream journalists around the world attended. Samsung announced the news about Samsung Galaxy S3 Tablet, two foldable notebooks, a Samsung S Pen and the new Samsung Galaxy Gear VR controller.

The electronics giant showcased their new Samsung Galaxy S3 Tablet which sports a 9.7-inch Super AMOLED 2K HD display with a screen resolution of 2048×536 pixels. Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy S3 tablet powered by a 2.15 + 1.6GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor and coupled with 4GB of RAM. The tablet packed with internal storage of 32GB and expanded up to 256GB using microSD card.

In the optics department, Samsung Galaxy S3 tablet equipped with 13megapixel with LED flash and on the front, it bears 5megapixel selfie camera for selfies and video calling. The smart tablet runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and comes with a battery capacity of 6000mAh which can offer up to 10.5 runtime of charging. The Samsung Galaxy S3 tablet also bundled with S pen for home and office purpose.

The new Staedler-collaborated S Pen features a smaller 0.7nm tip and comes with increased pressure sensitivity. Samsung S Pen also includes most convenient features namely, Screen Off Memo for dot down notes quickly. A PDF Annotation with editing and advanced drawing tool for professional level drawing. It will be available for a free of cost with Books and Tablet.

For the virtual lovers, the company comes with Samsung Galaxy Gear VR. The new device sports bundled remote controller which works with smartphone and depends on accelerometer and gyro for the movements on screen. The Samsung Galaxy Gear VR packs with 1000mAh battery, and it works based on home, back, touchscreen and volume keys.

The Korean giant also announced its new two laptops, i.e., Samsung Galaxy Book would launch with two versions which are available in 10.6-inch and 12-inch models. The 10.6-inch Samsung Galaxy Book sports TFT LCD full HD display, and the other 12-inch model bears 2K Super AMOLED display. In terms of Chipset, both the models powered by 7th Generation Intel Core i5 processor and clubbed with 4GB of RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy Book boosted up with extra 64GB/128GB internal storage respectively which can further expandable up to 256GB. For the optics section, the 10.6-icnh Galaxy Book packs with 5 megapixel front camera and the 12-incher bears 13megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front-facing camera. However, the company doesn’t make any announcement regarding price list of the models.

Samsung Galaxy Book of both the models comes with additional connectivity options such as two USB Type-C ports, WiFi ac and also LTE support. Both the books powered by Windows 10 and packed with a battery which aims to provide 10.5 hours run time. These are perfect for those who are looking for a compact laptop like usage of the tablet.

Apart from these, the company unveiled its end-to-end portfolio of 5G mobile network products. It includes consumer devices for fixed wireless access connectivity, Next-generation Core Network, a 5G Radio Base Station and much more. It also showcased the 5G RFIC and ASIC modern chipsets for 5G network infrastructure. Finally, the Korean company announced the official launch date of Samsung Galaxy 8 at an event held in New York on 29th March 2017.

Samsung Heir Lee Jae-yong Arrested for Bribery and Embezzlement

Samsung’s heir apparent Lee Jae-yong has been placed under arrest in South Korea, accused of bribery and other charges, the media reported. The case is linked to a scandal that led to the impeachment of the country’s President Park Geung-hye.

Lee is currently vice-chairman of Samsung Electronics. But since his father, Lee Kun-hee, suffered a heart attack in 2014, he is considered de facto boss of the entire Samsung Group conglomerate.

Samsung is accused of giving donations to non-profit foundations operated by Choi Soon-sil, a friend of Park, in exchange for government favors. Lee and the Samsung Group denied any wrongdoing.

“We will do our best to ensure that the truth is revealed in future court proceedings,” the Samsung Group said in a brief statement following Lee’s arrest. The Samsung chief had already been questioned with several other company executives in January but a subsequent court ruling decided there was insufficient grounds for an arrest.

But on Friday, a court spokesman said in a statement: “It is acknowledged that it is necessary to arrest (Lee Jae-Yong) in light of a newly added criminal charge and new evidence.” Lee has been in detention since he was summoned back to court for a hearing held behind closed doors earlier this week.

Prosecutors accused Lee of giving bribes worth 41 billion won ($36 million) to President Park and her close friend Choi Soon-sil to win government support for a smooth leadership transition within Samsung.

Lee Jae-yong, also known as Jay Y Lee, first gave evidence in front of a parliamentary hearing in December last year. Since January he has been treated as an official suspect in the case.At the parliamentary hearing, Samsung admitted giving a total of 20.4 billion won to two foundations, but denied seeking favors in return.

And Lee also confirmed the firm gave a horse and money to help the equestrian career of Choi’s daughter, Chung Yoo-ra, something he said he now regretted. Prosecutors now have 20 days to detain and question him before they have to formally indict Lee.

Samsung chief to be questioned again over corruption charges

South Korean prosecutors will question Lee Jae-Yong, Samsung Group’s de facto leader again on Monday over bribery allegations, as they accelerate their probe into a corruption scandal involving President Park Geun-Hye and her friend.

The summons will be the first questioning of Lee, the vice chairman of Samsung Electronics Co., since a Seoul court rejected the prosecutors’ request on January 19 to arrest him on charges of bribery, embezzlement, and perjury, Yonhap News Agency reported.

The probe team, led by Independent Counsel Park Young-soo, first quizzed him over the charges on January 12.

South Korean Special Prosecutors Filed a Suit to Raid on Presidential office

Investigators have suspected that Lee gave or promised some 43 billion won ($36 million) worth of bribes to Park’s jailed friend Choi Soon-sil in return for the state-run pension fund’s backing of a merger of two Samsung affiliates in 2015.

They have hinted that the president ordered other favors be offered to the conglomerate that was giving her friend large sums of cash. The President has rejected any wrongdoing in regards to the merger.

The special counsel also plans to question Samsung Electronics President Park Sang-jin and Hwang Sung-soo, another executive of the conglomerate on Monday in relation to the scandal.

Talking about the new features, it is reported that Samsung is planning to launch own AI called Bixby. Now, we have got furthermore information on it about Samsung plans to launch a new app with it.

Reports say that Samsung has now filed a trademark in Europe for Samsung Hello. However, there is no specific info about it as of now. But, it is expected that the new software application would work with its upcoming new AI platform. The file describes that the Samsung Hello is a piece of software which enables users to access, interact, aggregate and organize various things like content, images and information along with topics of general interest to them.

Samsung Hello is just an application, which gives personalized information and features based on the user’s preferences.
