Reliance Jio Effect: Telecom industry is witnessing the tariff war of all times which have not seen earlier. With the announcement of Reliance Jio network, the war between telecom operators has started. As the Jio announces any new plan, all its rivals come with new plans or revising their existing plans. Apart from this tariff war, people with 4G smartphones and 4G Sims are getting more benefit with reducing prices.

As the Reliance Jio free VoLTE services of unlimited calls, free data and SMS has ended, but the war between network providers has not stopped. After the last date, the Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio has come up with various offers such as Rs. 149, Rs. 303, Rs. 509 and recently announced Dhan Dhana Dhan offer. In the same way, the other telecom operators like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular has come up with the latest offers.

Currently, for Jio Prime members, the company is offering

  • 149 offer where the user can get 2GB data, free voice calls and 300 SMS for 28 days.
  • Under 303 offer, subscribers can enjoy, unlimited voice calls and SMS and bundled with Jio apps.
  • For 309 plan, users can avail 1GB data and unlimited calls for 84 days.
  • On recharge with 509, customers can avail 2GB of 4G data per day, unlimited voice calls, SMS and Jio apps with a validity period of 84 days.
  • For non-prime members, the telecom operator providing the above offers for Rs. 408 and Rs. 608.

Bharti Airtel

  • Under 399 plan, users (with 4G Smartphones & 4G Sim) can get 1GB data per day and free calls of 3000 minutes for 70 days. If the limited minutes got over, then the user will be charged Rs. 0.10 per minute. For Airtel-Airtel network, subscribers can avail 300 minutes per day and 1,200 minutes is the limit per week.
  • 345 plan where customers can get 2GB data per day and free calls.
  • Under 244 plan, the user can avail 1GB data for 70 days and 1,200 minutes of calls to other network and 300 minutes for Airtel to Airtel.
  • For the postpaid users, the company is offering 30GB of additional free data for next three months. This offer is valid for the users who joined Airtel network through ‘My Airtel App’.

Idea Cellular

  • 297 plan offers 1GB data per day for 70 days, 300 minutes of free calling per day and 1200 minutes to other networks. After exceeding 1200 minutes, users will be charged 30 paise per minute.
  • Under 447 plan, the telecom network offers 1GB data per day and 3000 minutes free calling to any network for 70 days. Upon exceeding the limit, 30 paise per minute will be charged.

Vodafone India

  • 352 plan offers 1GB data per day, unlimited Local and STD calls for 56 days.

BSNL New Rs. 249 Plan Offers up to 300GB Data, Free Night Calls

After Jio was launched, the other telecoms also started to introduce low-budget plans for data and calls. Indian state-owned BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) announced a new plan of Rs. 249 called BB Unlimited 249. The offer avails the users with 300 MB data per month and also free calls during the night time.

With Gadgets 360, a BSNL executive announced this Rs. 249 plan and the validity of the offer is six months after that it will be converted to Rs. 499 plan. With the newly implemented plans, BSNL is giving a healthy competition to Jio. 

BSNL official site stated that the plan would be available to users until March only, but the executive said that it would be extended for some time.

The users who availed the Rs. 249 plan will be awarded 10GB data with the 2Mbps speed with FUP 10GB, and after that, the speed will be 1Mbps. The offer is valid in all the states excluding J & K and Andaman and Nicobar regions. However, the data that is remained unused in that 10GB will be forwarded to the next day also.

The offer claims to provide unlimited calls between 9 pm to 7 am only, and the executive confirmed that the offer is also available on Sundays and the calls are free to any network in India without any additional charges. The minimum validity is a month (28 days).

BSNL always starts a new plan attracting its subscribers and now because of Jio and other Telecoms, BSNL planned well to give a strong competition and implemented this plan. Even last month also it announced a free 1GB data to the users who hasn’t used data yet.

Reliance Jio laptop rumored to be launched with dedicated 4G SIM slot

While the Jio 4G telecom services have been put on track, the company is working on a Jio-powered laptop. Recent reports say that Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio is focusing on launching a new Jio laptop in the Indian market. This on the go laptop will provide a dedicated SIM slot which expands 4G network user base in India. The company claims that this may work as the availability of good Wi-Fi zones lacks in the country.

Reliance is planning to launch Android-powered 4K resolution Set Top boxes with Jio Apps.   For users of 4K TV, Jio is introducing STB’s in various prices and hardware.
