Idea RC 198 Tariff Plan now offers 1.5 GB data, Unlimited Voice Calls for 28 Days

Idea Rs 198 Plan:To compete with the other telecom operators in the country Idea Cellular has upgraded its Rs. 198 Tariff Plan to offer more data. You can enjoy 1.5 GB Data and unlimited voice calling to local and STD numbers on any network for 28 days validity period, as well as 100 SMS’s per day. Bharati Airtel is offering the same plan for Rs.199, but it offers only 1 GB for 28 days.

In October Idea has launched the same plan with 1 GB data, but now to overcome its competitors it has revised the plan and offering 1.5 GB data for 28 days. Currently, the plan revision is applicable in two circles only, i.e. Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. It is offering 1 GB extra data to its users who use MyIdea App and Idea website to recharge, raising the total bundled data to 2.5 GB.

Airtel unlimited calls Plan with 84GB data launched at Rs 399

The Prepaid Tariff Plan Rc 198 provides unlimited free calls capped at 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes a weak. Idea subscribers cannot call more than 100 unique users in a week, if you use more than the limit you will be charged 1 Paisa per second.

Similarly, if the bundled 2.5 GB got exhausted, users will be charged at 4 Paisa per KB. Biggest rival Jio is offering 28 GB with 1 GB data per day and unlimited calls and SMS for Rs.199.

Idea Users before recharging withe RC 198 should check about the availability of the tariff in their region. Meanwhile it’s counter-part Airtel offers 2 GB of mobile data per day, unlimited calls for 28 days to its prepaid customers under Rs. 349 prepaid pack.

Idea RC 696 Plan Offering 126 GB Data & Unlimited Calls Launched

IDEA Rc 696 Plan: Indian Telecom Operator IDEA Cellular has introduced RC 696 plan that offers 126 GB of 4G Data. Besides Data, the telecom is also giving Unlimited Free Local and STD calls (including national Idea roaming)

IDEA Rs 696 offer will be coming with a cap of 1.5GB data per day. Prepaid users who recharge with RC 696 can enjoy these benefits up to 84 days. With the advent of Reliance Jio, all the telecom companies in India are offering various Data and Call Offers targeting Pre-Paid and Post Paid users.

On the other hand Airtel has launched the unlimited calls Plan with 84GB data  at Rs 399. Even the State Owned BSNL has launched BSNL STV 429 Which gives free voice calls, 90 GB data for prepaid users. Recently Airtel has launched the 4G VoLTE services to stay in the Race of Telcos with its Counterpart Reliance Jio.

With the announcement of Reliance Jio network, the war between telecom operators has started. As the Jio announces any new plan, all its rivals come with new plans or revising their existing plans. As the Reliance Jio free VoLTE services of unlimited calls, free data and SMS has ended, but the war between network providers has not stopped. Bharti Airtel

  • Under 399 plan, users (with 4G Smartphones & 4G Sim) can get 1GB data per day and free calls of 3000 minutes for 70 days. If the limited minutes got over, then the user will be charged Rs. 0.10 per minute. For Airtel-Airtel network, subscribers can avail 300 minutes per day and 1,200 minutes is the limit per week.
  • 345 plan where customers can get 2GB data per day and free calls.
  • Under 244 plan, the user can avail 1GB data for 70 days and 1,200 minutes of calls to other network and 300 minutes for Airtel to Airtel.
  • For the postpaid users, the company is offering 30GB of additional free data for next three months. This offer is valid for the users who joined Airtel network through ‘My Airtel App’.

Idea Cellular

  • 297 plan offers 1GB data per day for 70 days, 300 minutes of free calling per day and 1200 minutes to other networks. After exceeding 1200 minutes, users will be charged 30 paise per minute.
  • Under 447 plan, the telecom network offers 1GB data per day and 3000 minutes free calling to any network for 70 days. Upon exceeding the limit, 30 paise per minute will be charged.

Vodafone India

  • 352 plan offers 1GB data per day, unlimited Local and STD calls for 56 days.

Idea Payments Bank to Unveil in the First Half of This Year

Aditya Birla Idea Payments Bank is all set to roll out fully functional branch by the first half of this year. The payments bank is relying on the scale and brand name to attract customers. The payments bank is a combined venture between Aditya Birla Nuvo Ltd (ABNL) and Idea Cellular.

The bank will roll out its operations over 1.5 lakh touch points, an in-inbuilt United payment Interface (UPI) solution. As per RBI norms, Idea payments Banks accept deposits and open current and savings accounts. However, the bank is not permitted to lend or issue credit cards.

“It is clearly a scale game, unlike traditional banking. In traditional banking, you can put up one branch and still do well. Here, it is scale since technology platform is the same which has to accommodate many transactions. So more the transactions you accommodate, more benefit you can give to the customers,” says, Sudhakar Ramasubramanian, designated Chief Executive Officer at Aditya Birla Idea Payments Bank.

The idea is yet to announce a tie-up with any financial institution unlike other companies like payments banks of Airtel and Jio. Presently, it is exploring partnerships with institutions based upon the intensity of transaction and size of the population.

Idea has both online and offline scale with 60-70 % of its users has feature phones. Only State Bank of India has such huge customer base.

“India Post has access to people but does not have as many customers. We are the organization where we have done the Know Your Customer (KYC) and two million retailers is the network which we have. Also, 15% of India is our existing customer base, and 200 million of 8 billion is like 3% of the world’s population,” added Sudhakar.

Aditya Birla Idea Payments Bank and seven other companies have got final approval from the banking regulator. Airtel payments bank, PayTech, PayTM, National Securities Depository Ltd and Jio Payments Bank are the other companies who have received the final license for payments banks.

Idea and Vodafone India Merges to Make India’s Largest Telecom Entity

Idea Cellular has announced its merger with Vodafone India to make the country’s largest telecom network. As per the reports, the merger will be completed in 2018 and forms board of directors from both networks. The final decision on the same was pending and will be unveiled after meeting of top Vodafone executives on March 16.

The statement released states that the Promoters of Vodafone and Idea will have the right to nominate three directors each. The CFO will be a Vodafone’s nominee, and the chairman will be an Idea nominee. Both CEO and COO will be decided jointly by both the parties.

“The combined company will have the scale required to ensure sustainable consumer choice in a competitive market and to expand new technologies—such as mobile money services—that have the potential to transform daily life for every Indian. We look forward to working with the Aditya Birla Group to create value for all stakeholders,” says, Vittorio Colao, Chief Executive Officer at Vodafone Group Plc.

In the combined entity, Vodafone will hold 45 percent and the idea to hold 26 percent after the merge. On the other hand, Idea shares have observed a six-month high share value after its merge with Vodafone India. In a move to equalize the share holding over time, Idea has right to buy up to 9.5 percent additional stake from Vodafone. Voting rights of additional shares will be exercised jointly until the equalization is achieved.

The pact includes idea to contribute all its assets like 15.4k tenancies standalone towers and 11.15 percent in Indus Towers. Vodafone India will contribute standalone towers with 15.8k tenancies but no stake in Indus Towers. Also, Vodafone will pay a net debt of 25 billion rupees than the idea at completion. Post-closing, combined entity will be reported as a JV by Vodafone and accounted for the same method.
