Part 3 is for Specialization for 90 marks with 90 Questions. The total exam is conducted for 200 marks for 200 questions in duration of 3 hours.

BSNL Invests Rs.2500 crores for new WiFi hotspots and Signalling towers Setup

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is strengthening its infrastructure by pumping funds into various areas of expansions and developments.The new developments would include  new WiFi hotspots and Signalling towers Setup

An estimate of Rs.2,500 crores out of the self-allotted budget of Rs.4,000 crores is being released in the seconds financial year. In addition to this, the Government of India has a funding of Rs.3,000 crores to BSNL. Already, the mobile service provider has invested Rs.1,500 crores in the first quarter of the Financial year 2016-17.

A total of Rs.7,000 crores will make the BSNL improve and expand its network. A significant portion of investment lies in setting up of new towers for better signals and Wi-Fi hotspots.

BSNL is Planning to Introduce Free Voice Calls Cheaper than Reliance Jio

The division of these fund allocations are in detail are as follows. GSM expansion is mainly focused on strengthening the network signaling. Left-wing Indian states will have the most benefit from these funds. Optical fiber sector is being the beneficiary of these investments.

BharatNet and Defence spectrum project will provide the better network. BSNL will install 20,000 BTS to improve quality in the services provided. By March 2016, from now these new installations works will be completed.

Wi-Fi will have a new combination of Capex and Opex model. At present, BSNL has 2,700 Wi-Fi hotspots. The service provider plans to make this figure reach 40,000 by the end of March 2018.

“Opex model” will enable the franchisees which install, manage and run the sites for a term of five years. They are also responsible for sales and marketing. On the other side, “Capex model” BSNL creates and owns self-installed wifi hotspots.

The development of the network will be helpful in transferring the data seamlessly and at good speeds. The voice calls will also be made clear and the networking, signaling will have a better experience for the users.

Other areas will be developed from the budget allocations of govt. And they will be in the areas of infrastructure mostly.

BSNL Free voice calls :State owned telecom Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is planning to launch free voice service for lifetime starting January 2017. The plans would be cheaper than the recently announced Reliance Jio Tariffs.

This step from BSNL is targetted to expand the user base across the country, excluding Delhi and Mumbai where MTNL services are available. This move may also force other telecom operators such as Vodafone, Airtel, and Idea Cellular to slash tariffs and offer free voice calls.

BSNL BBG 1199 Combo Plans with Unlimited Internet and Calls to Any Network

BSNL will offer services to both 2G and 3G users without any bias knowing fact that majority of the population is still using 2G and 3G services. Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio embraces services only for 4G users.

“We are closely observing the market as well as Jio’s performance. We will also come up with lifetime free-voice plans from the new year as part of fresh offerings. We plan to be even lower than the Jio plan, and this could be by Rs 2-4,” says, Anupam Shrivastava, BSNL Managing Director and Chairman.

Vodafone India offers Double Data Benefits for its Customers

BSNL has a significant share in mobile subscriptions in many key markets like Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Haryana, Odisha, UP, and Punjab. Zero-voice-tariff plans yet to be announced will be lower than Rs. 149 which is said to be the entry price for Jio.

The free-voice facility is also available for a subscriber when he/she uses the connection outside his residence. The main idea behind the plan is to make use of their home broadband to re-direct their mobile outgoing calls through landlines.

Voda & BSNL Shake their Hands for 2G Intra-Circle Roaming Agreement

Vodafone and BSNL announced a 2G intra-circle roaming agreement (ICR) which is designed to extend their network support and to reduce call drops. The agreement considered as a move to enhance rural coverage of Vodafone and to provide a better network of BSNL in urban localities.

State-run BSNL regained its 5th position in the count of its mobile subscribers back in June. The firm nearly has 1, 14,000 towers across India focusing a broad reach in rural areas, while Vodafone India has more than 1, 37,000 carrier towers.

An estimate is that both the companies will be benefited with the better coverage with the availability of additional towers. Eventually, this will also reduce the chances of call drop.

“The agreement will enhance coverage for both Vodafone and BSNL customers. Next month, we will jointly provide seamless connectivity at the BRICS summit, which is to held in Goa” Says, BSNL CMD Anupam Shrivastava. “This partnership with Vodafone will help us make our network coverage better, especially in urban areas.”
