BSNL Unveils Unlimited Wireline Broadband in Contrast to Jio

BSNL to launch a promotional unlimited wireline broadband plan which translates into less than Re 1 per GB download cost for users if they subscribe up to 300GB data in a month. The state-run telecom is trying to take over Reliance Jio 4G offer of Rs.50 per GB. BSNL is looking to grab new customers to its new wireline broadband offer.

“BSNL is going to launch a very cost-effective and affordable promotional unlimited Broadband plan ‘Experience Unlimited BB 249’ from September 9, 2016,” the telecom PSU said in a statement. “Under this scheme, customers can download unlimited Broadband data without bothering about any data limit in GB. BSNL shall offer 2 Mbps speed under this plan,” the statement added.

BSNL to Offer New Postpaid GSM Plan for Rs. 1125

It is believed that the plan will attract the new users by enhancing the experience of wireline broadband services. If a subscriber uses this plan continuously in a month, by just paying Rs.249, they can download up to 300GB.

“Hence, per GB of data download cost comes out as less than Re 1 per GB. After six months, the customer will be migrated to one of the regular broadband plan based on the choice of the customer,” said, BSNL.

BSNL Introduces Unlimited 3G at Rs1099 Without FUP

At the recent Reliance Industries AGM, the company has announced the “affordable” data rates against the market rate of RS.250 per GB. Jio 4G service rates will be around Rs. 25-50 per GB targeting 100 million users in the shortest possible time span.

BSNL also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with state telecom Department concerning the objectives based on the performance assigned to the telecom PSU.

BSNL to Offer New Postpaid GSM Plan for Rs. 1125

Indian Government-owned telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced the unlimited plan of Rs. 1125 for new postpaid GSM mobile offer. BSNL has also revised the other plans and increasing the data limits of Rs. 1500 plan will offer 5 GB instead of 2 GB that is available earlier.

The new tariff postpaid GSM offers will be operated from 1st October 2016. The other offers that include in Rs. 1125 plan is 1 GB data, 250 SMS and unlimited local and STD calls to any mobiles and landlines throughout the country.

BSNL Unlimited Free Calls on Sundays will effect from 21 August

India’s largest Reliable Telecommunication Network BSNL offers the postpaid users with the new reversed plans in all services. For the Rs. 666 data plan now they are offering 7 GB data and provide unlimited internet and also the free usage of unlimited internet at 128 kpbs.

Similarly, the postpaid data plans Rs 901 and Rs 1711 are now revised with a new offer of 10 GB and 20 GB respectively with unlimited internet services at 128 kbps beyond the free usage.

Earlier, the Airtel also launched the two unlimited voice calling offers to encounter the craze got for the Reliance Jio within meantime. To overcome the competition with Reliance Jio 4G premium offers, all the mobile companies are introducing new plans to attract the people.

But it is very tough to counter the Reliance Jio as they provide unlimited data services, voice calls and SMS for very less price when compared to others. Now they have also extended the Reliance Jio 4G preview offer to one year.

The state run telecom company BSNL is transforming to gain market share and compete with other counterparts.  The latest offer looks much more in a way to counter Reliance Jio effect.

BSNL has introduced unlimited 3G data plan at Rs. 1,099 without FUP. Which means the customer can avail this package without any speed limit and as much as data they want. Apart from this the company has doubled the data usage in many existing plans.

As such the state owned company  has improved its network and started  gaining customers eventually and now this jaw dropping offers may gather some more.

BSNL Unlimited Free Calls on Sundays will effect from 21 August

The year showed a great start for the company, as it added highest number of subscribers in April 2016 for the third month in a row. BSNL added 11.39 lakh subscribers followed by Airtel with 9.78 lakh subscribers. The other telecom companies with new subscriptions are Aircel (5.72 lakh), RCom (1.1 lakh), Vodafone (46,600), MTNL (11,591), and Quadrant (-25,012).

“Due to improvement in network, BSNL has been gaining customers. We are now first in the industry to offer unlimited 3G plan for Rs 1,099 without reduction in speed. This will rejoice our customers and help them experience improved BSNL networks,” said BSNL CMD, Anupam Shrivastava.

The details of the updated plans are:

“The plan has validity of 30 days and is equivalent to 100 per cent increase in data benefits to subscribers,” said BSNL CMD.

“Last year, BSNL had also facilitated the customer by offering 80 per cent cheaper voice tariff. By massive reduction in data tariff and introduction of unlimited data STVs (Special Tariff Vouchers), BSNL hopes to serve data customers, mainly the youth segment in a much better way,” said RK Mittal, BSNL Board Director.

BSNL Plans to Provide Super Fast 4G Services by Next Financial Year

Private telecom companies Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular have provided increased data usage limits to safeguard themselves from Reliance Jio effect. This step by BSNL may be considered as a similar one.

Currently BSNL does not have 4G network, hence the company is backing on the 3G services to increase the 3G customer base.

Govt Imposed a Fine of Rs 2,313 Cr on Telecom Companies for Violating Verification Norms

BSNL tops the list of rule breaker telecom companies

The government of India imposed a fine of Rs 2,313 crore on telecom service providers for violating subscriber verification norms. The penalty has been imposed till 31st may 2016.

TRAI has given highest priority to the verification of telecom subscribers.The telecom authority has repeatedly been giving guidelines for subscriber verification, as a mandatory requirement to activate the SIM. In spite of stringent rules, telecom departments continue to break the rules.This time, the authorities has taken it seriously by imposing a Fine.

In response to a query the action taken for violating verification norms by telecom operators, Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha said “For all cases of non-compliant CAFs (Customer Acquisition Form), TERM Cells (Telecom Enforcement, Resource and Monitoring Cell) have taken actions which include imposition of penalty on non-compliant CAFs and filing of complaints/FIRs against apparently forged cases as per guidelines issued from time to time,”

As per the data shared by the minister, shockingly the state-owned BSNL tops the penalty list with Rs 583.09 crore, followed by Rs 377.51 crore on Reliance Communications, Rs 328.15 crore Tata Teleservices, Rs 300.34 crore Airtel, Rs 285.62 crore Vodafone, Rs 218.04 crore Idea Cellular, Rs 108.82 crore Aircel and Rs 53.14 crore on MTS.

BSNL Plans to Provide Super Fast 4G Services by Next Financial Year

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited(BSNL), state-owned telecom firm, is planning to launch 4G services from the next financial year. BSNL 4G services will be set up in 14 telecom circles across the country.

Minister of state for communication said that the company would not be participating in the upcoming 4G spectrum auction due to financial and other reasons.

“BSNL plans to upgrade its network for 4G GSM services through tender. Based on the outcome of the bid, tentatively BSNL 4G services may launch progressively during the next financial year (2017-18),” Sinha said.

BSNL Broadband doubles the FUP speeds to 1 MBPS for all Broadband plan

The minister further added that Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) does not have immediate plans of launching the 4G services as it has already surrendered 2300 MHz band spectrum.

BSNL is planning to install the 4G base tower stations in the existing GSM’s so there will be no additional expenses for installing new towers. And when asked about the device ecosystem, he said that there are some 4G handsets in the market like Apple, Motorola, Lenovo, Google, Micromax, etc

According to a senior BSNL official, launch of 4G services in a 2,500Mhz band is feasible and commercially remunerative for the company. BSNL has soft launched 4G in Chandigarh this January and demonstrated 35Mbps speed.

Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular have started their 4G services in various cities and now BSNL going to enter the sector. Reliance jio Infocom will be joining the 4G market soon, to intensify the market competition.
