The Chinese smartphone manufacturer confirmed that more than 100 million Redmi Note devices have been sold globally. Its Xiaomi’s popular sub-brand that was launched in 2014. In India, Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphone was launched, which is loved a lot by users.

The very first Redmi Note series smartphone was Redmi Note, which was launched in March 2014. The basic intention of launching the Redmi series was to target the budget smartphone market. It worked and the series phone became very successful especially in price-sensitive markets like China and India. 

The latest offerings in Redmi series are Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro. Both of these models were launched in China in August this year and entered the Indian markets formally in October.

Xiaomi, which is a privately owned company, designs, develops and sells smartphones besides an Android-based OS and some other consumer electronics. The company is also into the making of tablets, fitness trackers, TVs and air purifiers. 

The company also has an MI User Interface, abbreviated MIUI pronounced as Me You I. It is a stock and aftermarket firmware based on Google’s Android operating system for smartphones and tablet computers. MIUI includes various other features like theme support.

In India, the company mostly sells its phones via flash sales and these sales are a huge success. People wait desperately for these flash sales to lay their hands at the latest offerings by Xiaomi. 

The latest mobile launch happened on 9th October 2019 for Redmi 8. This smartphone has a 6.22-inch touchscreen display and the resolution is of 720 pixels by 1520 pixels. Powered by 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor, it has a RAM of 3GB. Xiaomi makes sure that its products have all the features that people love to have on their phones. It has a 12-megapixel (f/1.8) + 2-megapixel primary camera and for taking selfies you have an 8-megapixel front camera.

Redmi 8 is a dual SIM phone having all connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, Type-C, USB FM and Active 4G. The sensors fixed on the phone gives you features like Fingerprint sensor, Face unlock, Compass Magnetometer, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, and Ambient light sensor. 

Thus, all the features that one expects in high-end phones are provided in Xiaomi Redmi series phones and that too at a fraction of cost. Thus, it’s no-brainer that these phones are very popular among the masses, which has led to the series crossing 100 million mark globally.
