Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has come up with a new initiative on this year’s Hajj tour. The minister said that all arrangements for Haj Pilgrims were discussed at a meeting with Saudi Ambassador to India Dr. Saud Mohammed Alsati in December.

He said that the central government of India is considering all necessary steps to make a smooth and hassle-free Hajj Trip for this year and the center has set upnew arrangements for Haj Pilgrims.

The latest news is that Modi Government has introduced an mobile app for Hajj Pilgrims. Through this Hajj Pilgrims mobile app, followers can get information about Haj Trip and also able to register through online by using this mobile app. The Mobile App for Haj Pilgrims is now available in Google Play Store.

Through this app, a group of five adults and two children will be allowed to register in online and the registration fee will be paid through App itself. A PDF document will send to registered Mail ID, and the devotees would take a printout of the copy and attach photos to it. Later, the printed copies will send to the related State Hajj Committees.

The last date for registration of Haj Pilgrims Online is on or before January 24 and the Government launched this initiative to boost Digital India Programme.

The Minister Mukhtar also said that the new websites in various languages like Hindi, Urdu and English have been launched for Haj Pilgrims to know the detailed information about the Haj tour.

During the inauguration of a newly constructed office of Maharashtra State Haj Committee in Mumbai, he said the Government would make arrangements and provide best facilities to Haj Pilgrims. Every state would construct a Haj House, and the ministry is ready to help.

“The Central Government is working hard to run Haj Tour in a smooth way this year like the previous year. For the first time, Minority Affairs Ministry had sent an allocation of officials to Mecca to take the standard of preparations. Last year Saudi Government cooperated a lot for running comfortable Hajj trip, and this year also we hope that.”

Applications for this year’s Hajj Trip would be taken from January 2 to January 24, 2017. Approximately 99,903 people went to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for Hajj from 21 embarkation points across India through the Hajj Committee of India last year. Apart from that 36,000 pilgrims went through private travels.
