Facebook Inc will soon launch the free version of its productivity app named as Workplace to give the tough challenge to the team collaboration tool Slack. This app was developed in an attempt to get more businesses sign ups and eventually convert them into paying customers.

According to the reports, Facebook will offer a free version of Workplace to challenge Slack and other Microsoft teams. The free standard version will provide one-to-one services like group voice and video calling, chat with the people with Apple iOS, Android devices & even desktop PCs and streaming video.

Workplace, which is a messaging service for businesses can be used for one of the many products used by the businesses can now chat and share the files within the selected groups. Facebook has been trying more to venture in the business sphere.

Recently the social networking giant rolled out the new feature to compete with Microsoft’s LinkedIn which allows posting job notices. Moreover, till now there no official announcement regarding the availability of free version. But the Facebook said that the version would be out soon. It is also expected that Workplace would connect everyone including the people who use mobiles more.
