Former India cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was rescued from a fire accident in a hotel on Friday. Dhoni was staying in the hotel along with the Jharkhand team for the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. The team was staying in Dwarka’s Welcome hotel complex when the fire was turned out. The entire team was evacuated safely without any casualties.

The situation could have been worse as the fire alarm did not go off in time at the hotel. The fire alarm didn’t go off early, and all assumed it to be a small fire accident. The team and other customers in the hotel were asked to vacate immediately after a strong burning smell. The seriousness of it struck them only when they got out. The smoke spread to their rooms as well and then they were asked to run down the stairs.
