International Yoga Day is right around the corner and more than 170 countries are participating in the world yoga day. To encourage people to yoga and related activities the government launched a mobile app through which people can share their experience. Union Science and Technology Minister Harsh Vardhan launches this application called ‘Celebrating Yoga”.
This mobile application will help in capturing big events organised at public places, schools and offices across the country on International Yoga Day. This app is not only for International Yoga Day, you can use this application even after the IYD on June 21.
Celebrating Yoga app is connected to Google Map, where shared information can be seen users, a statement said. The Information will be visible on Website of the Department of Science and Technology. This application provides a platform to share information and insights about people participation in Yoga activities; it also creates awareness and encourages a scientifically healthy living.

The Department of Science & Technology also launches a programme called “Science and Technology of Yoga and Meditation (SATYAM)” under its Cognitive Science Research Initiative (CSRI) to strengthen research in the areas of Yoga and Medication. This programme will encourage research in two major thematic areas: Investigations on the effect of yoga and meditation on physical and mental health and investigations on the effect of yoga& meditation on the body, brain and mind in terms of basic processes occurring therein.
