Kerastase and Withings launched world’s first Smart Hair Brush at CES 2017. L’Oreal’s Research and Innovation Technology Incubator brings both the companies together. They have launched this Smart hair brush for better hair care.
The brush is designed with Withings advanced sensors. It is installed with L’Oréal’s patent-pending signal analysis algorithms which help to score the quality of hair and monitors the effects of different hair care routines.
This Smart hair brush got the place as the recipient of International CES Innovation Award. It is an outstanding product and design in new consumer technology products.
Loreal scientists said Forceful hair brushing might cause hair damage, including breakage and split ends. So this smart hair brush can minimize the risk. Multiple sensors had equipped with these brush to count your hair fall and giving information on the quality of hair and brushing patterns.
A microphone has attached to this brush which listens to the sound of hair brushing, it identifies the patterns, provides insights into manageability, frizziness, dryness, split ends and breakage.
They are 3 axis load cells which measure the force applied to the hair and the scalp when brushing. Accelerometer and Gyroscope help to further analyze the brushing patterns and count brush strokes with haptic feedback signaling if brushing is too vigorous.
The conductivity sensors on the brush which has been used on dry or wet hair helps to provide accurate hair measurement. The brush acts like a splash proof.
These sensors save the data automatically through wifi or Bluetooth to a dedicated mobile app. These brush also consider the weather factors like humidity, temperature, UV and wind, which also impact hair’s manageability and quality.
By analyzing the way a person brushes and factoring in aspects of daily life, the smart brush app provides valuable information like hair quality score, data on the effectiveness of brushing habits, personalized tips, and Kérastase product recommendations.
