Telangana Chief Minister ‘K Chandrasekhar Rao’ on Tuesday issued Recruitment orders to hire 13357 employees in electricity department and 10000 promotions to the employees in the energy department. According to the report states that these recruitments will be mainly in TSTRANSCO (Transmission Corporation of Telangana State), TSGENCO (Telangana State Power Generation Limited) and also Power distribution companies like TS Southern Power Distribution Company Limited and TS Northern Power Distribution Limited.

Since 2012, the power companies of Telangana have been asking to fill vacancies; due to the previous Congress Government of undivided Andhra Pradesh did not go for Recruitments.

“The CM of Telangana finally confessed officials to fill up posts that have been vacant since 2012. About, 11000 existing posts would be filled, and other 2357 posts would be created very soon as the distribution companies expand in the next few Months”, said by CM

The Recruitments will be done from the rank of Junior Lineman up to Executive Director. “The CM has also ordered that promotions for 10000 employees in electricity department across all boards. Announcing promotions is the first time where many of them would be getting after the formation of Telangana State,” a CMO officially quoted.

The decision was taken after D Prabhakar Rao, the chairman and managing director of two state electricity parent companies – TSTRANSCO & TSGENCO appealed to the CM to fill the posts.

He said the vacancies were being filled up in Telangana State. He also stated that Round-the-Clock supply is given to Industrial, domestic and commercial sectors. The Government is planning to supply 24/7 power to the agriculture from next year. He added, “Right now we are giving power for nine hours to the farm sectors”.
