E-platform for all the Women Government Employees to file Sexual Harassment Complaints

Around 30.87 lakh people works in the Government of India which is meant to be the largest employer in the country. According to the Census of Central Government employees, 2011, women form 10.93% of the total regular employees in Central Government.

Sexual Harassment of women in work places is a serious concern to the humanity on the whole. To tackle this problem, the SH Act ensures that all the work places with more than 10 employees form an internal complaints committee for receiving complaints of sexual harassment.

The WCD Ministry is also planning to add a section in the portal where complaints can outlet the real cause of the complaint. After receiving many complaints from women employees in various ministries last October, the decision of having a web portal was taken. A safe work place is every women’s right.
