Here is the good news for you guys. The Ministry of External Affairs has announced that people can apply online for passports in Hindi. The ministry has made this provision after the recent recommendations made by President of India Shri. Pranab Mukherjee.

It was all happened after the report submitted in 2011 by Committee of Parliament on Official Language. The members of this panel suggested making the Hindi language also available in the forms for the people, who are coming to passport offices. The panel also asked them to make the entries in Hindi as well, in all the passports being issued. Recently, they have been approved by the President of India, and they have released an official statement regarding this news.

No Need for Women to Change Surnames in the Passport After Marriage

From now, people can fill the downloaded application forms in Hindi, while they are applying for a passport. They also made it clear to the public that the printout of the filled-in form will not be accepted by ‘Passport Seva Kendra‘ and Regional Passport Offices. The board members also suggested making the information regarding passport and visa available on the official website into Hindi. The President of India also accepted this change.
