Mumbai: State Bank of India announced a bad news for all the bank job aspirants. After the merger with the associate banks, the country’s largest bank decided to reduce the number of hirings for the fiscal year 2018. It is reportedly known that there would be No more SBI Clerical recruitments for the 2017-2018. As per the released SBI calendar, Notification for the roles of clerks are expected this month. But due to this decision of the State Bank, it might disappoint the aspirants who are eagerly waiting for the SBI Clerk Notification

SBI hikes service charges for savings account holders

The news is that the bank has openly stated that the intake of employees in this year from 2017-18 would be comparatively less. After merging with its subsidiaries as the number of employees are increasing the bank management took this decision to reduce the hiring.

State Bank of India Chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya revealed that after the merging with associate banks, the employee’s number increased so much and which is why they are planning to lessen the recruitments this year. She claimed that there wouldn’t be any openings for clerk positions, but there will be fewer openings for higher level posts like Probationary officers.

Recently in the month of April, SBI got associated with State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Travancore and State Bank of Patiala. The association made SBI join the elite club of Top 50 Banks in the entire world.

The NPA’s got reduced drastically, and the profit with interest increased which made the 2017 quarterly net profit to Rs. 2815 crores.
