Maruti Suzuki India retained its position in the domestic Passenger Vehicle (PV) market in July. Seven models of the company are featured in the top 10 list best-selling passenger vehicles in the country.

Based on the latest data from Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), top 10 selling brands is decided for the month July 2017. SIAM serves as the communication channel for Automobile industry with the Government National and International organizations. SIAM represents leading vehicles and vehicular engine manufacturers in India.

MSI Dzire Tour, Renault’s Kwid, and Omni failed to make it to the top 10 list this year. Last year all the three models featured in the top 10 passenger vehicle list.

Top 10 Passenger Vehicles (PV)

Maruti’s Alto secured the top position by selling 26,009 units in July. In 2017, Maruti Alto sold 19,844 units in the same month.

Maruti’s premium hatchback Baleno stood in second place in the best-selling model. It sold 19,153 units this year as compared to last year, only 9,120 units sold.

Suzuki manufactured, Compact Car Wagon R was third by selling 16,301 units. The vehicle sold 15,207 unit sales last year and placed at the same position.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza retained fourth place like the previous year, selling 15,243 units. In 2016, the model sold 10,232 unit sales.

Swift dropped its position from third place to fifth position this year. It is also manufactured by Maruti Suzuki India. It sold 13,738 units this year as compared to 13,934 units last year.

Suzuki’s rival company, Hyundai’s hatchback Grand i10, secured sixth place with 12,002 unit sales in July. The company had sold 11,961 units last year.

Hyundai’s premium hatchback Elite i20 stood at seventh position selling 11,390 unit sales.

Maruti Compact Sedan Dzire secured eight placed with 11,187 selling units.

Suzuki’s hatchback Celario is at ninth position with 11,087 unit sales.

Hyundai’s SUV Creta is at 10th position with 10,556 unit sale.
