Google Pixel’s January patches are now live with an adequate set of functional patch notes. With all the normal security improvements, Pixel owners can easily look up for plenty of fixes, which also include sound fixes in Pixel 5 along with 4a for better automatic brightness for the phones launched this year. Not only this, even call improvements on certain MVNOs is also included, with auto-rotation improvements across the supported Pixel line-up.

In 2020, Pixel was able to stand some improvement for its automatic brightness and moreover Google comprises more fixes for the average performance of its models Pixel 5, 4a and 4a 5G. As of now, nobody has noticed any problem in the speakers, which are included in 4a 5G.It includes fixes for noise in certain scenarios on that same device, added with a tweak to the volume of system sounds on Pixel 5.

Till now we haven’t run into any issue, including fix for intermittent restarts in some of the apps. These are some of the twists to the automatic rotation and calls on unnamed MVNO networks.

Moreover, this month’s patches include several security fixes in both, including critical and high severity across the general security bulletin and the Pixel-specific one, so now it depends upon your personal interest to pull the update down sooner rather than later.

This update should be rolling out using the traditional means according to the usual schedule, in coming hours. However, the downloads are already available for both sideloadable OTAs along with factory images. Many builds are unified, although the Pixel 3 series, Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 have separate Verizon versions.
