Soon in next three to six months of time there are efforts to launch the Aadhaar app which will store the digital biometrics in an inbox. Google authenticator with One Time Password (OTP) will generate the security codes for accessing Gmail. These codes change within seconds for security reasons.

The app will store digitally signed Aadhar which can be shared through mail or Bluetooth for utilizing the services of Banks or telecoms etc. This will indeed reduce the physical carryings of the cards anymore. CEO of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Mr. Ajay Bhushan Pandey stated that the App is initially developed internally for Android and iOS phones. He continued by saying that the aim is to make Aadhar usage user friendly with this App in mobiles.

Chief architect and technology advisor of UIDAI, Mr. Pramod Varma said that this app is developed in such a way that the locking and unlocking of the biometrics will be for a time span. It is estimated that this might be for the first successful transaction or might end up in 20 minutes automatically. Indeed this will enable the safe usage and eradicate misusages and frauds. However the app will be protected with a password in case of mobile theft or loss.

The working of this is very simple. At the end of every authentication, a mail is sent to the registered mail ID. There is also a provision that the entire transactions history along with authentications can be obtained at regular time intervals. Care should be taken as there is a time limit for the history. UIDAI may delete the history at regular intervals as there is a problem of data storing in huge numbers.
