With VK Sasikala in jail, Ram Gopal Varma Unveils Poster of his Next film, Sashikala

Maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, popularly known as RGV, on Friday said his upcoming multilingual biopic on late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s close aide V.K Sasikala will be “unimaginably shocking”.

Sasikala is currently serving a four-year jail term after being found guilty in disproportionate assets case.

Talking about the project which has been titled “Sasikala”, Varma tweeted: ” ‘Sasikala’ is going to be the story of what happened behind and in front of Sasikala and only Manargudi mafia members will understand this.”

He went on to add that Sasikala is, “Don Vito Corleone of the Manargudi mafia family. She doesn’t even offer for you to refuse.” Varma said he will show the true relationship between Jayalalithaa and Sasikala in his film.

“Truth behind Jayalalithaa and Sasikala relationship, from what Poes Garden servants told me, is unimaginably shocking and I will show it in my film,” he wrote.

Known for helming movies on real life incidents, Varma had previously said that Sasikala’ is going to be a very, very sincere from the heart Tamilian love story and absolutely nothing to with fictional non-politics.

Varma is currently busy filming the third installment of the popular crime thriller franchise “Sarkar” and it features megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Yami Gautam and Manoj Bajpayee in pivotal roles.

FIRs registered against V.K. Sasikala, legislature party leader Edapadi K. Palanisamy

The police on Wednesday registered FIRs against AIADMK General Secretary V.K. Sasikala and legislature party leader Edapadi K. Palanisamy after a party legislator accused them of abduction. The party has denied the claim.

S.S. Saravanan, a legislator from Madurai South constituency, filed an abduction complaint against Sasikala and Public Works Minister Palanisamy, who was elected leader of the AIADMK legislature wing in place of Sasikala.

Saravanan landed up at acting Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam’s residence here on Monday and told the media that he scaled a wall at the resort in Koovathur, 90 km from here, and jumped down to escape.

He said he had to disguise himself to get away from the resort where he alleged he was held against his wishes. After Saravanan’s complaint, hundreds of police personnel on Wednesday reached the resort, where a large number of AIADMK MLAs supporting Sasikala are housed.

Supreme Court Restores Sasikala’s Conviction in Disproportionate Assets Case

“Saravanan’s complaint is totally false. He himself had told police a couple of days back that he is staying at the resort on his own will. The police had come here to enquire and submit a report to the Madras High Court,” Inbadurai, AIADMK lawmaker, told reporters.

While the media is not allowed inside the resort, legislators come out in turns and parrot the standard statement. The legislators at the resort have switched off their phone lines and some do not answer the calls or cut the call if it is from the media.

Saravanan too has switched off his phone and attempts by media to reach him went in vain. Sasikala supporters insist that the MLAs backing her faction against Panneerselvam are at the resort on their free will.

Will Retrieve AIADMK from Sasikala’s Hands says Palaniswamy

Many of the legislators made the same point to the media on Wednesday. One of the legislators, Thenarasu, told the media that the legislators would vacate the resort once the Tamil Nadu Governor invited their leader to form a government.

He said the legislators could also vacate the resort if Palanisamy told them to do so.Thenarasu said the police made some enquiries and left. But others at the site said they were still massed outside the complex.

Sasikala, who remains the AIADMK General Secretary, earlier left for Bengaluru by road to surrender, a day after the Supreme Court upheld her conviction for corruption. Also held guilty were the late Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa and two of Sasikala’s relatives.

Supreme Court Restores Sasikala’s Conviction in Disproportionate Assets Case

Finally the much waited Judgement on the disproportionate Assets case had arrived. The latest verdict from Supreme court of India rules out the AIADMK chief Sasikala’s chances of becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

As per the latest Judgement, SC has upheld the verdict of the special court along with penalties. From the latest update Sasikala will be banned from contesting for elections for a period of 10 years.

This Judgement from the SC would be a huge set back for chinnamma, since she had many hopes on the TN CM Chair. The Supreme court set aside the Karnataka High Court acquittal of V.K Sasikala, Ilavarasi and N. Sudhakaran and restored the trial court verdict.

The AIADMK General Secretary was be asked to surrender immediately and would have to be in prision for a period of 4 years as per the Trial court order. This might raise curtains to the political future of  V.K. Sasikala and as the verdict was given, OPS camp were seen much delighted and festive atmosphere in and around interim CM O Panneer Selvam’s residence.

A division bench of of Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose and Justice Amitava Roy set aside a Karnataka High Court order staying the conviction of Sasikala and three by a trial court. Justice Roy, in a concurring judgment, expressed deep concern over the “escalating menace of corruption in society

Began to Loose Supporters, Sasikala Seeks Governor’s Appointment

As support for rival O. Panneerselvam continued to grow, AIADMK General Secretary V.K. Sasikala on Saturday sought an appointment with Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao. She said her camp would be patient for some time and then “do what needs to be done”.

Speaking to Jaya TV, Sasikala said she believes in democracy and justice and maintaining patience. “Only to some extent we can be patient. After that we all together would do what needs to be done,” she said.

Another Jolt to Sasikala as TN Minister K. Pandiarajan joins Panner Camp

She said the AIADMK party is like an iron fort and cannot be shaken by anybody. Sasikala said the party has a cadre strength of 1.5 crore and those who try to divide the party would lose.

Sasiakala said that there is nothing for her to fear. Her remarks came after she sought an appointment with Governor Rao along with all legislators supporting her.

In a letter to Rao, copies of which were issued to the media, Sasikala said acting Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam has resigned from his post and the same was accepted by the Governor a week ago.

“…taking the urgency of the situation at hand, I would like to seek an appointment with Your Excellency by today with all MLAs (Members of Legislative Assembly) who extended their support to me regarding further course of action to form the Government,” Sasikala told Rao.

“I believe Your Excellency will act immediately to save the Sovereignty of the Constitution, democracy and the interest of the State,” the letter notes.

Will Retrieve AIADMK from Sasikala’s Hands says Palaniswamy

Panneerselvam revolted against Sasikala on Tuesday night alleging that he was forced to resign as Chief Minister to pave the way for Sasikala to occupy that chair. Subsequently a state minister, five legislators, one sitting MP, party old-timers, former legislators and others have started expressing their support to Panneerselvam.

The ruling AIADMK now has two clear divisions, one led by Sasikala and the other under Panneerselvam. Sasikala has already submitted documents electing her as the leader of legislature party and staked her claim to form the government.
