New Audi A4 with 1.4 TSI Petrol Engine at Rs. 38.1 Lakh Launched

German luxury car manufacturer Audi has launched its new generation A4 equipped with 1.4 TSI petrol engine. Audi is looking to strengthen its position with this move in the luxury sedan segment.After the successful run in the country during the last few years, Audi A4 will be a bigger and much more comfortable model which offers an excellent combination of performance and technology.

On the other hand, its direct competitors like Mercedes came up with good designs.
New Audi A4 1.4 TSI petrol engine would be first to launch, and a diesel variant is expected soon. The latest released petrol engine is quite impressive and churns out a power of 150Ps and torque of 250nm.

Since its launch in India back in 2008, Audi A4 has undergone many changes on both exterior and mechanical. In its latest version, the premium sedan rolls out 95 kgs lighter than it’s forerunner. New Audi A4 is equipped with a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox which drives on front wheels, claims best in class fuel economy noting 17.84kpl. The vehicle now boasts a new virtual cockpit with a broad range of new features which includes 12.3-inch TFT display infotainment system. Price for this premium petrol sedan starts at Rs 38.1 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai and Delhi).

Petrol Price Hike A Week after its Price Cut Down

According to the recent fluctuations amid the global oil prices, Indian Oil Crop (IOC) on Wednesday has announced that there is a petrol price hike and as well diesel price by 3.38 and 2.67 per liter respectively. Recently in July, the petrol price was reduced by 2.25 and diesel by 0.42 per liter.

At present, the cost of gasoline per liter is 63.47, whereas the diesel is 62.94 per litre. The hike in the transport fuel is necessitated by 13% raise in the international oil lift on Wednesday night (yesterday). In between July and till date, the prices of the fuels are reduced on August 16 by Rs 1 and diesel by Rs 2.

On being asked about the fluctuations of the fuel prices, IOC replied “Retail selling prices of petrol and diesel have been reduced on four occasions in the last two months on the back of decreasing international oil prices. As a consequence, the prices in Delhi were reduced by Rs 5.56 a litre for petrol and by Rs 4.92 for diesel.”

IOC Statement, “The current level of international prices warrant an increase in prices of petrol and diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers.”

IOC on being asked about their fortnightly revision stated, “During the current fortnight, crude oil prices in the international market have witnessed a steep increase by 13% (over $5 per barrel) compared to the previous fortnight, with a corresponding increase in the international prices of petroleum products.”

IOC also included “The movement of prices in the international oil market and Rupee-US Dollar exchange rate shall continue to be monitored closely and developing trends of the market will be reflected in future price changes.”

Making a fourth-time reduction in costs Petrol price was cut by Rs 1 per litre and diesel by Rs 2 per litre. The present cost now becomes 60.09 per litre of petrol and Rs 50.27 per litre Diesel in Delhi against the previous Rs 61.09 and 52.27 respectively.

State-run Indian Oil Corporation recently reduced the prices of petrol and diesel was on August 1st by Rs 1.42 a litre and Rs 2.01 per litre respectively. A similar drop in prices was seen in the month of June and July. Automobile users are seeing good economical months since July.

“The current level of international product prices of petrol and diesel and rupee-dollar exchange rate warrant a decrease in selling price of petrol and diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision,” IOC said.

The movement of prices in the international oil market and rupee-USD exchange rate shall continue to be monitored closely and developing trends of the market will be reflected in future price changes, IOC added.

IOC gave a similar statement during the previous price drops that occurred in the month of July.

The new prices of Petrol and Diesel will be in effect from midnight of August 15th. More price drops are expected in the coming months. The current international crude oil price computed by Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas was $ 41.82 per barrel.

The current prices of petrol and diesel are 61.09 and 52.27/ Litre respectively in Delhi against the previous prices 62.51 for petrol and 54.28 for diesel.  The revised prices are effective from Sunday midnight, marking a third-time reduction in the rates this month.

Except on April 16th rising trends of petrol and diesel have been observed from March till July.  IOC also added that international oil market and Rupee-USD exchange rate would be monitored closely, and the trends will be reflected in the oil price changes in the market.
