What a finals it was! Amazing show of cricket between the Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first. It was a bold decision taken by Rohit Sharma to bat first as it was finals many of the captains elect to bowl first. Rohit Sharma and Quinton De Kock started off well and were cruising at 10 runs per over.  Deepak Chahar and Shardhul Takhur bowled really well though they considered heavy runs in their first spell.

Harbhajan Singh was bought into the attack and he delivered most of it. Turn and bounce off the track was really difficult for the batters to play along the ground. Imran Tahir and D.J. Bravo complimented each other well and bowled according to the field. They restricted to 150.

Faf du Plessis and Watson gave a brilliant start. Du Plessis started dealing with boundaries and sixers.  He got out cheaply on a wide spin ball bowled by Krunal Pandya. Even though asking-rate was low, CSK kept losing wickets. One man stood still, Shane Watson! Watson was struggling hard with knee injuries. It seems that he had stitches on his knees and it opened when tried to dive to reach the crease. Harbhajan Singh posted on his instagram that “Can you guys see the blood on his knee. He got 6 stitches after the game. Got injured while diving but continue to bat without telling anyone,” Things dint go his way though he tried till the last over. The match was going neck to neck.  Watson called for 2 runs and was run out as he was short off the crease. Things dint go CSK’s way and they lost by  1 run as Lasith Malinga bowled a yorker which stuck on Shardhul Takhur’s pads.
