After a series of rumors, Samsung Galaxy S8 Active has been launched. This new beast from Samsung has been listed for sale exclusively for AT&T users. The US telecom users can pre-order Samsung S8 Active for $28.34 (Rs. 1,800 approximately) with a deal of 30 months subscription.

However, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active unlocked price is $849.99 (Rs. 54,100 approximately). Samsung Galaxy S8 Active features all Active variants and its ruggedness stands as a highlight. The device claims to be durable even in extreme environments and is shockproof to stand against odds.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Active pre-orders will be rolled out for AT&T users now and will be available in stores from August 11. However, the rugged smartphone will be made available for other users in the next few days after its launch. On the other hand, AT&T is offering new launch offers to attract customers.
Galaxy S8 Active will be available in Meteor Grey and Titanium Gold color variants. Samsung claims that S8 Active gets a shatter proof display which can resist a drop from up to 5 feet. The smartphone is dust and waterproof with a metal frame and bumper to guard against shock, abrasion, tilting or twisting.

The rear panel also gets a tough texture and rugged finish for a secure grip. It is rated to survive immersion in up to 5 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. The MIL-STD-810G Military standards certified Galaxy S8 active can stand against 21 specific environmental conditions like extreme temperature, dust, shock/vibration.
Discussing specs, Galaxy S8 active features almost same specs of the Samsung Galaxy S8. There are a few changes on battery department which the pack goes up to 4000mAh. The increased battery capacity offers 32 hours talk time, 5 days standby time, and 113 hours of audio playback. The 5.8-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display on Galaxy S8 remains same in Galaxy S8 Active. The rugged smartphone from Samsung is powered by a Snapdragon 835 SoC with 4GB of RAM. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and has a single Nano-SIM support.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Active gets 64GB inbuilt storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. On the camera font, the device gets a 12-megapixel primary camera with autofocus, 8x digital zoom, optical image stabilization (OIS), and LED flash. On front, there is an 8-megapixel sensor with autofocus for selfies and video calling.
