Sticking to its ritual of pre-release product leaks, Nothing has spilled a bevy of details about its upcoming Nothing Phone (2). As we anticipate the launch slated for July, we now have more information on its display, battery, software update cycle, and other exciting features. Dive into the details below.

Nothing Phone (2) Details Revealed

In a recent tweet, Nothing announced that the Phone (2) will have a 200mAh increase in battery capacity compared to the Phone (1). This revelation indicates that the Phone (2) will feature a 4,700mAh battery, a detail disclosed during Carl Pei’s recent interview with Forbes.

The device will also see a bump in display size. While the Phone (1) has a 6.55-inch screen, the new model will add 0.15 inches, increasing the display size to 6.7 inches. It’s expected to be an AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Another confirmed detail is about the software update cycle: The Nothing Phone (2) will receive three years of major updates and four years of security updates, similar to its predecessor.

Like many tech companies today, Nothing emphasizes sustainability. The Phone (2) will have a carbon footprint of 53.45kg, approximately 5kgs less than its predecessor. It will contain three times more recycled materials than the Phone (1). Its aluminum frame will also be 100% recyclable, and the packaging will be plastic-free.

As for other specifications, we already know that the high-end Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset will power the smartphone. Even though it may be a year old, it can still deliver an 80% overall performance boost. Previous leaks suggest the presence of a 50MP primary camera with OIS, two other sensors, up to 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. The device is expected to sport a semi-transparent design, run on Android 13, support wireless charging, and offer satellite communication capabilities. Pricing details are yet to be announced, but Nothing assures customers that it will be ‘accessible.’

As the launch date draws closer, we hope to receive more specific details about the Nothing Phone (2), including the exact launch date. Stay tuned for further updates, and let us know if you’re excited about Nothing’s second smartphone in the comments section below.
