Two-wheeler manufacturers are rushing to sell thousands of BS III emission scooters and motorcycles. As the Supreme Court ban on BS III comes into effect from April 1, manufacturers are offering huge discounts. Two-wheeler majors like HMSI, Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp and Suzuki Motorcycles are providing discounts up to Rs. 22,000 on BS-III models.

However, the marginal discount has a time bounding and is impossible to sell and register all vehicles in time. Supreme Court strictly orders Indian automobile industry should switch to BS-IV emission norms from 1 April. As per the previous submissions, the manufacturers and dealers had more than 800,000 two-wheelers in their inventory.

Automobile makers are hoping for an extension of the ban and allow then to sell earlier models even after the deadline. Leader in the class, Hero MotoCorp Ltd is up with benefits worth Rs. 12,500 which brings you free insurance and cash discounts. While the cash discount on the vehicle will be borne by the company, dealers will bear the cost of insurance.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Ltd (HMSI) is a step ahead in discounts. The Japanese two-wheeler maker is providing a cash discount of up to Rs. 22,000 on its range of BS-III scooters and motorcycles. Bajaj Auto is also on the same track with discounts and free insurance on its range.
