Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) India has announced the pre-bookings for its Jeep Compass on Monday. The bookings for this Made in India Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) can be made on the company’s official website or at the nearest FCA or Jeep-exclusive showroom. Interested customers can book their vehicle by paying a token amount of Rs.50,000. Fiat SUV Jeep Compass Price around 15 to 16 Lakhs.
The Jeep Compass was manufactured as a locally at FCA’s state of the art joint-venture facility in Ranjangaon, Pune. The SUV will be available in three trims - Sport, Longitude and the Limited (top-of-the-line). FCA India is providing five color options Hydro Blue, Vocal White, Minimal Grey, Exotica Red and Hip Hop Black as well as options in 4×2 and 4×4.

FCA is offering the Jeep in two engine variants- the 170+ HP, 350 Nm, Diesel and the 160+ HP, 250 Nm Multi-air, Petrol. The latest SUV comes with two gear shift options like Seven-speed Dual Dry Clutch Technology Automatic or DDCT (Petrol) and 6-speed manual transmission (Petrol and Diesel). For reference, both the engines comply the BS-VI regulatory requirements in India.
New Jeep Compass 4×4 comes with Selec-Terrain Traction Management and Jeep Active Drive system. The SUV is equipped with a Driveline Disconnect Technology which automatically disconnects the rear wheel drive when not required. This assists in saving fuel saving and keeps driving on a safer end.
The Jeep Compass offers four-mode Electric Parking Brake (EPB) across the range. Also, it has the Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) which provides variable damping that adjusts to road undulations. These shock absorbers come with a special valve inside which enables an optimal ride at high and low frequencies. This FSD is usually employed in the luxury and performance oriented vehicles till now.
Jeep Compass claims to be one of the safest SUVs on Indian roads with more than 50 safety features. The Jeep Compass Limited 4×4 variant will be equipped with six airbags with dual-stage passenger airbags. The price of the SUV is yet to be revealed and is assured that will be competing with the likes in the segment.
