Electra Meccanica Unveils a Three wheeled Electric Car

Automobile industry is fast changing. As a part of change, many auto manufacturers across the world are thinking of innovative ideas. One such manufacturing company is Electra Meccanica.

The electric vehicle model that is launched by the company is named as Solo EV. It is completely electric vehicle which runs on a rechargeable battery. This three wheeler has a seating capacity of just one person.

This is surely the first step in a drastic change that the automobile industry is looking for, in order to replace the fuel based running vehicles.

Many giants are conducting research on these type of vehicles, especially electric based. Electra Meccanica Solo EV Specifications have been unveiled by the company at the time of release some of the vehicle’s images today.

The vehicle is built for an 82 HP engine. A fairly decent range of 100 miles mileage is set after one time full charge of battery with electric power. The vehicle can catch a speed of 0 – 60 mph in just 8 seconds.

It will take three hours to charge on a Level 2 charger which is considered as full charge for the vehicle.

Solo EV has 15-inch wheels and is almost two feet shorter when compared to Fiat 500 car model. Electra Meccanica Solo EV has 285 liters (approx. 10 cubic feet) of cargo space. This space is similar to a Mercedes Benz C3002 Coupe.

The company has unveiled the first photos of the production version. It is sold in Canada for $19,888 (approx. US  $15,500). A pre-order on the company’s official website accepts the order with $250 as token. The delivery is however be made next year. As per one of the company’s statement released this summer, it had already taken more than 20,000 preorders. There is also option of refund of the paid token amount if the customer takes a back step.
