  • President: NSUI (16299), ABVP (14709).
  • Vice-president: NSUI (16431), ABVP (16256).
  • Secretary: ABVP (17156), NSUI (14532).
  • Recounting is on for joint secretary post

ABVP Activist responding to NSUI’s victory in the DUSU elections said that” We were in the union for four years. These are dirty tricks by the Left and NSUI. The Left put out dummy candidates to help the NSUI win.”

BJP Backed ABVP won the DUSU elections last year, and they want to keep their dominance still. While the Congress’s student organization, National Students Union of India (NSUI) is trying to break it’s counterpart’s strength by winning this year DUSU elections.

DUSU Polls Result 2017

Congress’s students’ organization NSUI is hoping to give a tough competition to ABVP. Last year, while ABVP had won the post of president, vice president and secretary, NSUI was elected to the post of joint secretary.

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad has nominated Rajat Choudhary, Parth Rana and Mahamedha for the posts of President, Vice President, General Secretary respectively.
ABVP’s Uma Shankar was fielded for the post of Joint Secretary. This year NSUI has nominated Rocky Tuseed as presidential candidate

Delhi University Students Union Election Results

The DUSU elections 2017 held on September 12 has recorded a polling percentage which seems to be highest In last few years,” SB Babbar, DUSU Chief Election Officer has reported that final tally of the elections was 43 per cent.

Delhi University had introduced “None Of The Above“(NOTA) for the first time. Along with the DUSU elections, the college union elections were also held simultaneously. ABVP has won all the posts in Shri Venkateshwara College, Laxmi Bai College, and Vivekananda College. The BJP students organization has also secured two positions in SGTB Khalsa College, Zakir Hussain College (Morning) among others.

After getting a green signal from Delhi HC, the counting has started and the results of DUSU elections 2017 will be declared today. The results of DUSU elections 2017 are scheduled to be declared after the Delhi University was given the go-ahead to announce the results by the Delhi High Court. The order after Delhi University sought modification of the interim order dated September 8. The University has stated that partial results cannot be declared as voting was carried out through the EVMs. HC in its Interim order had allowed contesting the election but advised the varsity not to declare the results for the president post.
