Facebook Messenger debuts with Group-calling feature limit Up to 50 people

Facebook finally unveiled group-calling feature for its Messenger app, which has 900 million monthly active users. Messenger has been adding new features to make profits and is becoming one of the most successful products of Facebook.

According to David Marcus, Vice President of Messaging products at Facebook, the global roll out of new group-calling feature on Wednesday is for all IOS and Android powered devices. Users with the latest update of Messenger will now be able to start a group VoIP (Voice over Internet protocol) audio call from any group.

“Really excited to announce the global roll out of group calling in Messenger today. From any group conversations, just tap on the phone icon to initiate a group call. You can then manage individual participants on the next screen,” he wrote in a Facebook post.

Facebook launched its one-on-one calls through Messenger in early 2014. Now, the group-calling can be started by just tapping on phone icon in a group chat users can add participants to group call. Once added to the call, the app rings each participant simultaneously and connects them as they respond on messenger.  Currently the limit of participants is 50 as per the recent update.

In recent past Messenger added artificial intelligence-powered dots. Messenger has now coming up with this core communication feature before Snapchat and it is definitely a first step to success after being delayed in launching several updates like QR codes and internal camera.

 Although Facebook has been working on group video-chatting feature, it is still restricted to one-on-one conversations. However, the feature is expected to launch in the near future. However, dynamic Muting and quieting of background noise of inactive people on the call must be one of the cool features to be launched by the Messenger.

Growing by 31% through the first 10 months of the year 2015 to 96.4 million average unique users, Messenger became the fastest successful app in United States. Messenger makes it easy to block someone’s calls. The credit goes to the Facebook spam recognition systems, as it is becoming hard for anyone to create account just to spam or harass.

As a messaging platform Facebook is being popular replacing the SMS and it is now going to serve better than Skype and Google’s Hangouts. New group-calling feature is letting you communicate to a group of people whose contact numbers are not saved. Soon Messenger will be the only app for the user needs to open.

The biggest trending news going viral on all social networking sites is Moon turning Green on April 20 and again on May 29. Are you one among the people who are waiting to watch the big green moon? Oh come on! Don’t you remember the Red Mars Hoax? It’s just the same again. Let me clear you, there is NO truth in Moon turning into green to night.

Do not fall for the false promotions on social media. Green Moon due to the planetary alignment, coinciding on the National Weed day is just a Hoax going viral. The “Pink moon” which will is going to appear on the full moon day of the month i.e.; on Friday April 22 is also a cooked up story. The scientists at NASA and Space.com have demystified these rumors.

This false notion in different blogs claims that the Moon on 20th April and 29th May will appear green in color. The explanation given for this spectacles event is that the green moon is appeared for 90 minutes on 20th April, caused due to alignment of several planets which is rare and takes place once in 420 years. Well, disappointing the stargazers scientists explain that there is no such event going to happen. Mars, Nibiru, Zero-gravity and now, it is green moon hoax message. And unpleasantly, most of the people across the world are implored to share the event on social networking sites.

This green event on April 20 is also referred to as “4-20”- is generally identified as National Weed day which celebrates the smoking of marijuana and cannabis culture. Thus, the Green light story is cooked as the predominant color of 4-20 day is green.

The original part of the green moon deception indicated that the moon would change to hue on May 29 due to moon positions just 4 degrees from the green-hued planet Uranus. And due to this close interaction moon may somehow acquire green sheen from the green planet Uranus which will obviously do not happen.

“ISON’s green color comes from the gases surrounding its icy nucleus,” says SpaceWeather.com’s Tony Phillips. “Jets spewing from the comet’s core probably contain cyanogen (CN: a poisonous gas found in many comets) and diatomic carbon (C2). Both substances glow green when illuminated by sunlight in the near-vacuum of space.”

It notes that the origin of the ridiculous rumor is the Facebook post by Miles Johnson, which was shared 38,000 times on Facebook. It is suggested to develop Critical-logical thinking skills rather than blaming social media for proliferation of such hoaxes.

Regina Dugan, who led Google ATAP (Advance Technology and Products) and also erstwhile Director of DARPA (Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency), will be on board to Facebook Building 8 very shortly.

Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg certainly told in an FB post on Wednesday to recruit hundreds of people and invest hundreds of Dollars for this active project over the next forthcoming years CEO & Founder Mark discloses a strategic plan for the next 10years. At its F8 once a year conference this week, focussing on having a breakthrough in the areas of AR, VR, and AI (Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Artificial Intelligence) and tends to extend internet access to Billions of people, Facebook Chief Tech Officer, Mike said.

Dr. Regina Dugan, An awardee of Ph.D. from Institute of Technology, California in the field of Mechanical Engineering. The first women, to lead Pentagon research lab popularly known as DARPA served from 2009 – 2012 to oversee the entire operation. Later on associated with Alphabet Inc, Motorola (a division of Google) and accompanied in Google’s ATAP for new ambitious products. She was involved in advanced technology projects such as modular smartphones, Smart Fabrics, and 3D mapping devices, project Ara and lesser moon shots like Project Soil, which uses radar waves to detect the finger movements precisely to control the objects in the air.

Why named Building 8? Mark reasoned that “There are eight letters in Facebook,” aiming high to build future technologies among the company. At F8 conference, Zuckerberg unveils the 360 – degree video for social networking that indicates company’s consistent efforts in making up of new technologies of Hardware and Software.

Dugan blogged this morning it is a bittersweet day that “I am on one hand excited to step in for the opportunity in Building 8 to focus on ambitious R&D to create a breakthrough” and “on the other hand, departing from Google ATAP and leaving my Pirates”. Google in a statement greeted Regina, for the contribution for the practical product development with Google’s ATAP with hundred number staff and one thousand subject experts working on various projects and although wished her “the very best.”
